Sorry Cahos I went and researched it, and you're right, I must have read a wrong source several years ago. It always seemed credible to me because of Final Fantasy Adventure for Gameboy being released by Sunsoft and not Square. Again sorry for any confusion I caused, it appears that Squaresoft was the software division of Square or something like that.

    I don't get it?

According to GameFAQs there were two US releases of Final Fantasy Adventure, one was by Square, as is the EU & Japanese versions & one, a reprint by Sunsoft. What's a "reprint"?

Hmm, so is it like with the music industry where if somebody made a "cover" of another artist's song &/or music?

not exactly... a reprint tends to be after the original has stopped being produced.

A good example of common reprints are the Greatest Hits series of games on Playstation consoles, the only difference between them and the originals is that they had Greatest Hits written on them and some had colorless instruction books compared to the originals. Reprints happen when there is a sudden demand for and out of print product, or if they think it will sell well again, and put it into production again with minimal changes.

Yeah, they did mix with another company (no outstanding news on it though), ever played Chrono Trigger and Bahamut Lagoon etc.? It just says "Square".

Although with reprints they have to pay copyright to the original developers...

Of course, or else they could leech money of another popular game for free. Ever seen those reprinted PSX games, which look completely different? My friend has a FFVIII one, when you go to install it for PC, it shows pictures of Tidus and Yuna.
