Depending on where you are in the world Final Fantasies 1-6 (except 3) were either released or rereleased on the PSX, I know I have Final Fantasy Chronicles which consists of Final Fantasy 4 and Chrono Trigger.

i have FF anthology on my PSP now.

except FF5 is a little buggy when trying to save. (gets all glitchy, have to back out and try again)

    FF6 runs perfect.

OP, you must be really young then. I am 36 and am enjoying my DS. Just bought a second one for my kids, cos they keep nicking it off me!

Hubby has an XBox, but I really want a Wii!

When I was young we had to play with the likes of the Commodore 64 and Sinclair Spectrum et all.

Final Fantasy VI is always the name for it, not III, that's the name for the US version. You can barely find it on romsites though, only Japanese versions.

there was both 3 and 6 in Europe, US got 6 and called it 3

The "official" Final Fantasy 3 (that was recently remade) was a NES (FamiCom) game that was released only in Japan.

So does that mean that Square Enix mixed up the numbers?

Technically Squaresoft did (or were they still Square at that point? I can't remember), they skipped 2, 3, and 5 in America so they released 4 and 6 as 2 and 3 to avoid the numbers skipping and confusing people. Although I don't really see how suddenly jumping from 3 to 7 was any better than skipping around.

They're confusing, they change their names Square>Squaresoft>Square Enix>? To be continued...
Then they mess around with the titles... What next?

Well they started as Square, then they merged with Sunsoft to become Squaresoft, and then a few years ago merged with Enix to form Square Enix just to clarify that.

Ah.. Their company kept growing and companies merged with them...

    Wait, Square merged with Sunsoft!?

I don't think so, because if they did, why were "Eternal Eyes" & "Monster Seed", both for the PSOne released solely by Sunsoft?

Also, if that were true, how come, the Looney Tunes games released by Sunsoft like "Looney Tunes B-Ball" for the SNES weren't labeled, Squaresoft if there was such a merger, since these games came out at the same time (or almost) as when Square started using the name "Squaresoft" at around Final Fantasy 4's release or in such titles like Romancing Sa-Ga that were released only in Japan?
