Someone could always try applying the (J) patch, though I know it won't work. The AP may be the same, but a different part of the code is probably changed.

One quick question... Say if you had a (J) save that had already passed the first battle, would you be able to use that and play the (U) rom?

 

hmmm...unless they fixed it to where battle itself can't start....someone got a .sav to share?!?!

 

I know this is kinda off topic, but what exactly is Dragon Quest?? I know its an RPG and all, but is it like Final Fantasy??

The same makers (Square Enix) made Final Fantasy and DQ, so they are very similar

 

It might work, though it seems like it would be a pain considering an AP patch will exist before too long.

If it is possible, I'll lose at least one small chunk of story. It will suck, but at least it would work.

Well, I downloaded the patch for the (J) version, it apparently applied it and created a patched ROM, but now I'm slightly scared to stick it into my DS. xD

 

upload it, i'll put it in my Ez flash VI, i prefer my AK2i, and i'll never use it.

 

I'm gonna go ahead and try it out. It's my own fault if it bricks my DS or something.

Nah, that ROM doesn't exist anymore. Well, it is just very hard to find.

 

How much after the 1st battle does it cut off? Im on no$gba and i got thru the 1st battle and tlaking to the peole who were saved. They r flying to some sort of tower..

 

So what you're uploading is a patched (J) rom right? Are we going to play it, until it bypasses the first battle, use that Sav File for the English version, and see if the english version will actually load up and work? I hope so

 

Well, actually, I tried to use the (J) patch on the (U) ROM. It loaded up, got through the character creation, then black screened. xD

I figured it wouldn't work, but it was worth a shot. I don't think I care enough to play through the (J) version though.
