you do need to rename the .txt extension to .bat so it actually executes when you click it.

As I have said before, I haven't actually patched this myself. I have taken the instructions from another user on gbatemp and added explanations to it.

you do need to rename it to the xpa...blah blah blah because that is what was typed in the .txt file.

Or you can simply change the directed filename in the text.

you save the notepad file as a .bat (or rename it) then double click it to execute.

Which would most likely bring up some sort of command prompt. Lunar IPS is only for .ips patch files.

    i just rename patch.txt/patch to patch.bat?
    and ms7 will patch itself?

  9. anandjones

    anandjones Well-Known Member

Yes should do, providing you've done everything right and once you run the .bat file.

Is the patch.bat in the same folder? Did the window flash a little bit?

  12. blacksun23

    blacksun23 Guest

Sounds like you need the .bat or .exe or cmd files to actually stay on the screen, I know that adding a pause or something like that to Run works, but I'm unsure how to change the setting on the computer. But it still should initialize and work anyway.

Blacksun: It's not illegal to think for yourself, we're not here to hold your hand through life, the instructions here was enough to guide me through it and I've never patched a game before in my life. Try to think about what's being said for more than 3 seconds before asking the same question again.

Also google is your friend, if someone tells you GBATemp has them then search for that in google, don't decide to just ignore it because you don't know what GBATemp is.

I was trying to look for this thread.

Hold on and I will post you step by step instructions.
Don't question the instructions, just do it, and everything will go fine.

    Things you should have:
    squire-patch.zip
MS7 ROM.nds (must be clean, untrimmed)

    1. Extract the squire-patch.zip.
    2. Rename your MS7 ROM to xpa-ms7.nds.
    3. Put xpa-ms7.nds in the squire-patch folder (not the .zip one).
    4. Open up Notepad, type in "bspatch xpa-ms7.nds patched.nds sq-ms7p.bdf" (minus the quotes)
    5. Save this file as patch.txt and put it in the squire-patch folder.
    6. Go into the squire-patch folder and rename patch.txt to patch.bat
    7. Double click the patch.bat file.

I'm not going to post anything else on this thread. If this doesn't work, then you didn't follow the directions exactly.
    Try it again.

Remember, if you don't know how to do something at first, try to figure out it for yourself.
