I'm not trying to define/rebutt the existence of a God (at the moment). Just saying that the arguments used here are crap.

Hey God if you exist would you mind using a little bit of that divine guidance to teach your followers how to debate properly I mean seriously I'm open to the possiblity of your existence and all but these people are very bad at convincing me okay thanks

God can't be all knowing and pure good. The two must be mutually exclusive. Consider, if God is all knowing, then he would have known that the serpent would convince Eve, and by extension Adam, to take the forbidden fruit. Thus bringing suffering to his creations. That would make him at least a little sadistic.

 

Well yeah, but my point was that pointing out how crap an argument is doesn't really achieve anything regardless.

It used to be so annoying for me when overly religious people & adamant Atheists bicker about religion & both sides don't give a shit about each others' points of view. But now I find it hilarious as the argument keeps on going even after other threads have been closed off because things got out of hand.

And yeah, believing that God or any higher being doesn't exist is in itself a belief so you Adamant Atheists are just the same as overly religious people & both of you tend to be dickish & are imposing on others' lives

Believe in whatever it is you believe in, but don't get on other peoples' faces about it, I say.

The thing is, is that, yes, you can have faith, and even though I don't want to hear about it, I can tolerate. But to say that they know more about life and death about others? C'mon.

I personally think that doubt works wonders with faith, which is absent from many people. I doubt that Jesus or whoever existed, I doubt that the idea of a Christian god exists, hell, I even doubt that there is a higher power. But I'm still agnostic. I like love the idea of there being a heaven and I hope there is one, but I doubt it exists.

True, doubt & faith should work hand in hand seeing as both are just the opposite of each other.

You really can't have faith without doubt.

A good example is when you study up for an exam. Let's say you studied well enough & have faith in your abilities that you could pass the exam, however simply because you do not know what the exam questions are or what format the exam paper will have is enough reasons for you to have a little doubt. In the end, you rely on your skills to weather through the exam & pass or not.

Another example is with a relationship, you can have complete faith with your partner but you really can't dismiss a little doubt, that is until you prove whether your hunch is wrong or not.

Ok I admit I'm flawed in debating and I'm lacking in explaining my beliefs fully, but that's why I jumped into this because unlike other Christians I want to learn how to better myself with debates. My father, being a theologian, could give you a good debate but I admit I'm pretty suckish. I know that 99% of Christians you will find will be babbling and just reply to your comments with a quick "Stop it!" or "God is real!" but I try and explain more and end up doing what every noob does and mess myself up. I'm sorry if I annoyed you but I'm pretty glad you guys could give me a run for my money and get me caught up into noob mistakes (even though it was probably just myself that messed up). I know I'm not the one to prove if God is real or not, as Natewlie said I don't believe in everything in the Bible but I got caught up in my idiot Sunday School lessons that I'm trying to leave behind. I still believe in God, I do believe the Bible was written by God (through a bunch of people), and I do believe Jesus is the Son of God and came to save us all. I thank you for your comments, I'm done for now but I will continue to read your comments and maybe whatever you feel like saying I'll read. I won't change my beliefs and I'm pretty sure you guys won't because of a topic on RomUlation about Satan, but that's not what it's really about to me it's just trying to state my beliefs and not make a complete ass of myself, good learning experience and good for me to get my ass kicked for next time

You're better than nearly all the Christians I've met because you value logic. I commend you for that. But it's true your debate points could you a bit polishing up -chuckles-

So, err, what definition of "Satan" are we using here? Because a prosecuting attorney and a hateful Jewish stereotype are sort of different, aren't they?
