That debate you linked is more about whether or not a belief in Satan is healthy (the negative team claimed it shirked personal responsibility, for example) than whether or not Satan exists.

I believe Satan is real. Why? Because it bothers you. YOU, yes, you. I mean the world totally revolves around you. Your opinion is the only one that matters and I totally believe he exists because you believe he doesn't as I hate you for it. I'm not jealous of you, but I hate you. I hate you with every fiber of my being. And not only that, my reason why I believe he exists is a better a reason than your reason you believe he doesn't exist.

I also believe that this thread has already dissolved into a shitstorm/flame war.

I didn't mean for it to be a flame war. I'm glad I'm not part of it.

That's their way of arguing their point to be better than the other's, thus, negative team gives reasons why it is unhealthy, to cajole the audience and the opposing team to believe that their point is to be taken as correct; Satan does not exist.

Even if a belief in Satan is unhealthy, that doesn't mean Satan doesn't exist. The reverse also holds true. That the proponents of each side held corresponding beliefs in regards to Satan's existence is irrelevant to the actual topic of debate.

If God existed, no one would suffer in this world. If Satan existed everyone would suffer in this world.
    Sounds wierd to me.

Well, no one really won that debate, they were hedging on beliefs. I thought maybe smartasses like you could hedge on something else to prove one point correct, for the sake of curiosity.

Wasn't Satan originally like the prosecuting attorney against human nature? And then after that anti-Semitism led to the depiction of Satan as resembling a stereotypical Jew?

...What. The. Fuck. Are you SERIOUS?! The entire nation is just like inland California's church belt?!

It's precisely because this "debate" is hedged on beliefs, precisely because this "debate" cannot be won, precisely because this "debate" cannot be objectively discussed that I say this "debate" is no debate at all.

The debate you linked to was only superficially related to personal belief systems - whether or not a belief in Satan is healthy can be objectively discussed with reference to psychological analysis and/or statistical evidence, therefore that debate is valid whereas this "debate" is not.

Do you understand my reasoning as to why this thread does not belong here now?

Yes, because I have posted it into the wrong board, which I just noticed a few moments after. Now, would it make you more comfortable to make your points if this thread weren't here? I mean, if you're hesitating to say anything towards the topic because I claim it to be a debate and you're sensitive about making arguments in something you don't consider a debate, then so help me, I will repost this topic into the General Discussions board when this gets locked.

    I'll be waiting.

Either way, it'll turn into a religious debate, then it'll be locked.

this kind of debate is pointless as there is not physical evidence proving whether their is or whether there isn't, other than the bible which depending on version, is a translation of ancient scrolls or is a translation of a translation of ancient scrolls or so on and so forth. personally I see the Bible as a history book that should be studied, as long as it is the king james version as it is the closest to the ancient texts without being able to read ancient hebrew. Therefore, I do believe that there is a "Satan" just not by that name.

Maybe the creation of Satan fully justifies, the existence of God and makes Satan the villain, a person people can blame for sins.
