Does regenerating health work in FPS?

the regenerating system sucks. its no fun when you can take an endless amount of damage. rainbow 6 vegas has the physics down perfect as far as how much damage the bullets do. 1 or 2 bullets kill the enemy, and the enemy can kill u with 1 or 2. but you can regenerate! i wanna see a shooter without health packs or regenerating. a game where if you take more than a bullet or two you die. it makes the game more interesting and rewarding.

 

reguardless, you can take way too much damage in most shooters.

 

Only some games have that feature. I prefer not to regain healt cause that aint real. You cant just recover in like 5 sec

I don't know...even when they can explain it it seems to enforce the wrong type of gameplay when you're supposed to be a godlike commando and you spend half your time sitting in a corner waiting for your health to regenerate...

I mean, I could see it working in a stealth game because you have to hide so much anyway...but it kinda ruins FPS's

 

maybe its about taste, some people want a less realistic fps and some want a not really realistic fps (i can't say realistic 'coz in real life, you'll die with a single rifle bullet in your body), so its about taste

 

i agree about proper implementation
but its more of a trend now than anything else
even infamous has health regen
but in cod health regen works because wouldnt a health bar system without regen make a killstreak alot harder?
it would only promote safer playstyles like camping(boo!) and sniping
If you really want realism dont play video games go out an actually do something

 

i think regen is good as long as you can shoot through walls, kneecap people (permanently), do headshots, bleed (slowly lose health and coordination after getting shot) and protective gear. NOW THAT'S A GOOD SHOOTER!
