I like it and I dislike people who are saying it is bad. But I can respect their opion.... sometimes!
I love pokemon! its been my favorite scince i was a little kid! I have emrald, Diamond, Pearl, blue rescue team, explorers of the sky, explorers of darkness, ranger, platnum and have had a lvl. 100 Charizard in all of them exept emrald.
I'm largely indifferent to Pokémon nowadays. Gold, Silver, and Crystal hold a special place in my heart that will immortalize them in my gaming collection. Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald messed with the features too much, and introduced some aspects that I feel don't suit the series well. It also alienated some fans from first and second gen. 4th gen was a huge step in the right direction by splitting every type of attack into physical and special. Overall, the series has matured somewhat well. However, the problems plaguing the series are bad enough for me to lose interest in the main storyline. There are 493 monsters now; there will be over 500 with the next generation (if any). Among these, maybe 100 are worth using in advanced competitive play. That is depressing! The game lacks balance and has far too many legendaries; reaching the point where gamers expect 10 or more legendaries per generation! I sincerely hope that Pokémon finds a way to curb this huge monster number growth, remove some monsters, remove pointless features, and rebalance for competitive players. It has a lot of potential, but sadly the more monsters and moves they add, the more difficult it will be to balance it. I am a big fan of the Mystery Dungeon series, since most Pokémon are formidable and all of them can reach the same theoretical maximum stats. It's also not directly competitive, which is fine by me.
Those pokemon games are one of the most adictive rpgs ever made. Since you can decorate secret bases, seal your pokeballs, plant berries, do double battles and see the difference between day and night, more and more poeple like those games. Even adults can find their fun in the pokemon world. The best part of pokemon is -for me- leveling up your 'budies' and getting new cool moves.
I like Pokemon. Borderline loving it. It's just THE RPG to start with. It's so basic with so much depth. It's easy to learn but hard to master. The collecting and the battling all works so well and it sucks you in. It's just plain fun. I blurt out "Pokemon" out of nowhere, I can't get the goddamn monsters out of my mind!
I loved playing Diamond and Pearl. But its like starting all over again when you buy a new game like SoulSilver. So all your mastered pokemon from your previous games have to be tra
[x] don't really care about it enough to like or hate it I play the games (regular RPG, not the other franchise rubbish) but they are fairly repetitive. The new graphics in the DS games was unnecessary, I bought the legitimate copy of Diamond but got sick of the game because it moved too slowly. Adding far too many pointless animations, like when you use Cut or other HMs. Options should have more options such as things to improve the speed of gameplay. A major factor that always annoyed me was that the choice of pokemon early on is so few, there are 400+ these days but in the first few areas you wont find more then maybe 20kinds (not including the evolves) and most are rubbish. Despite these things i still enjoy the game for what it is.. An RPG with alot of things to do.
I dislike pokemon more than I like it. Granted the games are pretty spot on awesome but its not the games I don't like, its the way people precept it. Everyday of my life I go browsing videogames, and I usually stumble upon at least 2 a day that people constantly whine is a rip off of pokemon. But its NOT a ripoff of pokemon, just because there are games where tons of monsters can join your party and than you use them in turn based rpg battles doesnt mean crap. If people want to whine that all these games such as digimon and fossil fighter are pokemon ripoffs, than pokemon is a final fantasy or monster rancher ripoff. I also am digusted that pokemon gets about 50 times the credit that it deserves. I have literally played hundred among hundred that are far better, but these better games are rarely spoken of.
I really enjoyed the older titles for the GB and GBC, but then Nintendo had to ruin the franchise. Nintendo just keeps throwing new pokemon and useless game elements at us! I'm sick of it!
Yeah Call of Duty and modern warfare 2 are awesome, but nothing compares to Pokemon, the feeling of having something that is your own and that you trained it, all the way to level 100 by yourself, its an awesome feeling. Whenever I played, no one beat any gym leaders other then me, I had to accomplish it all on my own. The first ones on the game boy Sp, Ruby, Sapphire, Fire Red, Leaf green, and Emerald were my favorite video games in the world. Especially FireRed, best game ever created and charizard is hella awesome. That is why I love Pokemon!!!!
That's how I got into DW Monsters. On topic... I think 10+ years and still playing the games say something. :]
