Thanks Now I have to go correct it. After speculating... I don't think I did...? That way you can analyze both pieces of information, view the flaws and be able to make your own personal opinion. Not one of another persons
Hmmm...it's easy to convert a girl into a religion. They tend to believe in fairytales before reasoning...but again philosophy is somehow atheistic in nature...
Then it works, I don't follow any particular religion, I believe that there may be an omnipotent power, some sort of all powerful entity, but I also don't believe it at the same time, I don't follow the customs of any other religion. To solve problems I simply label myself as an atheist, everyone would do that anyway, but you can't really read my thoughts on the matter. God may give people hope. But he/she/it doesn't give me hope. It matters not to me, if he/she/it exists he doesn't really do much.. If there was a loving god he would not have created life, for it means that there shall also be death. Everything that has a beginning has an end... God had a beginning.. It will end somewhere... I don't mind if you disagree, we're all entitled to our opinions, we have no proof that a God exists or that he doesn't exist... All apart from a book.
Actually, agnostic does = atheist, most of the time. There is no fence sitting. An agnostic claims that we can't know if there is a god or not, but every agnostic will have his own personal opinion of whether he believes a god is existent or not. Agnostic simply means "without knowledge", while being a theist or an atheist is defined not by what you know, but about your personal belief. For example, you can be an agnostic (you claim you can't know for sure if there is a god or not), but ultimately, you personally believe that a god exists. You are then a theist. You can claim no one can be sure if a god exists or not, but in your own personal opinion, you believe that he doesn't. You are then an atheist. Most people who label themselves as agnostics do so because they don't fully understand the atheist's position. They think that to be an atheist means to be sure that a god doesn't exist. But being an atheist simply means that you don't believe that one exists. So whether or not you think no one can truly know if a god exists or not (agnostic), or you are certain of your (dis)belief, you will always lean more toward one opinion, and thus there is only theism or atheism, no fence sitting. I hope that was understandable. As for my personal opinion, i am an atheist. If we can use percentages on such a thing as belief, i would say i am 90% sure no god exists, and 99.9% sure no god of any revealed religion exists.
nice, allkratos, im sure your popular with the ladies #snort# i'm still undecided on what religeon if religeon i wanna believe #shrug# leaning towards wicca. or christianity. what ever
IM NOT EVEN SURE IF IM BELIEVING IN THE RIGHT RELIGION. Google 'Sylvia Browne's teachings', and you will see what I mean.
Well i agree with my religion and most of the moral teachings, (I'm catholic). But I don't really get how the whole being gay is wrong thing and all those hardcore activists and petioners against homosexual people and stuff. (I'm not gay) Because to me, as my viewpoints of being a catholic, I don't see it as a great evil sin, if you really truly love a person then by all means go ahead. but yeah whatever...
I do agree that the comment allkratos said was completely unfair. I don't agree with sexist comments. Some males may be like that too.
i don't even understand the messages he was sending me, but anyway i'll try to hold on to my patience
I'm dreadfully surprised by the sexist comment. I'm going to somewhat ignore what everyone has said with the exception of the person who said the point of religion is to question it. Not to blindly believe it, to be blind and just follow incites feelings of close mindedness and ignorance. If anyone who has seen the excellent movie, Dogma, this is the exact basis of the movie. To blindly believe in something reminds me of the saying "If _____ told you to jump off a bridge, would you?". My parents always questioned in religion, they're still somewhat religious, like they believe in God, knowing there's no basis, but they like the idea of dying and going to heaven. They don't go to church with the exception of Christmas (the new priest is excellent and goes off in tangents and stops talking about God/the bible and there's actual messages coming out). I think some ideas are good to take out of religion, but these ideas you can find on your own. Also depending on the preacher at whatever church, sometimes they're actually entertaining, or have messages to take out. While to completely and blindly follow your religion, it's not that great to completely shun religion. There's some good messages to take out of most widely accepted religions (notice I said some). I'll never forget when I was asking too many questions in Sunday School (it was tradition) and the teacher told me to shut up.
i don't even like those ideas, i think they're just lies to children. same thing here, the teacher did sent me out of the classroom though lol
I'd like to think there's a heaven or some sort of afterlife, I don't think it exists, but I hope it does. I mean, we don't really know exactly what it's like, who knows? I think my parents have this same idea, I'm not too sure. But I hope there's a heaven or something where I get to see all my deceased friends/family and hang out and have fun. Yeah, it's childish and stupid and totally unbelievable, but I like to think it's there.
i do believe in afterlife. what my religion tells me is that you don't go straight to heaven or hell, i don't think those exists, but those who have traveled the right way will be taken back to the paradise where adam and eve had once lived in, and the remaining people will be granted the never-ending death. i hope no one here will mock at this, it sounds impossible but that's what i believe in.
There's no such thing as hell in the bible anyways, it's either a mistranslation, or added in. While some ideas you can mock about religion, I believe you should. Like fanatics, or anti-homosexuality, has a right to be mocked. Hate shouldn't have any place in anything I think, even as something as illogical as religion. That being said, I'm not Christian or catholic (although I'm a bit too familiar with both), I'm agnostic and I've learned about Buddhism, and three other religions (I don't really recall but they were similar, sort of based off of Buddhism). We can't really debate as to what happens to us after we die. To put it simply, we don't know, no one knows exactly. Reminds me of an episode of Moral Orel when Orel keeps trying to kill himself so he can get back to church (he was grounded from it) and see God. When he actually does kill himself the phrase "I am a church" repeats and when he comes back from the dead, he tries to tell everyone about heaven and how it's nothing like they said it would be, and his dad shuts him up. Shows/movies that discuss religion are great methinks.
lol i agree with some of your views. i was like a catholic since birth and an atheist (for a few weeks? lol) but i actually got tired of my curiosity and ended up joining this church and my life got better.
