    Most likely.

It can play patched games fine. YWG just doesn't support patches (ie: if a patched game corrupts your SD, not the fault of YWG). I would know pretty well considering right now I'm playing the new Blue Dragon game, patched, on Wood R4 v1.07.

No flashcard could possibly brick a DS except maybe for the dsi because it has questionable storage capabiletys iv tried many times to 'brick' my sisters dslite because she is a complete cow and iv found that it will only brick your card NOT the ds console which is lucky for me because i only paid £5 for my ak2i

    I support this thread 100%.

Remember he said do not BUY these flashcarts, if you already have one and are too lazy or broke to get another then you can deal with an old outdated cart, its like saying "My 10 year old windows 95 PC still runs notepad fine, but I need a patch to save my work".

They are outdated and cause way to many problems, people begging for patches/fixes, complaining about waiting weeks to play a game they already have downloaded, its just irrational to say that they "work fine".

...not to mention really soon people will stop creating updates for them or already have, and then you are all royally boned.

    That's right. But R4 doesn't.

    Hm...

I'd find that hard to believe with so many faulty clones out there...

Then you shouldn't have bought one ;) So stop complaining about it, it's getting really annoying. And there is nothing wrong with an original R4.

    Ace101 wasn't talking about Original R4.
Also there is heaps of R4 Clones
    Like heaps.
They are all a waste of money

    Ok.

I actually bought one of those "Original R4's" from ShopTemp to test it out and my brother wanted a flashcart. I didn't have enough money for an AK2i, so that was the next best alternative. :p

Well just to say I still think Original R4 is not that good.
But it's cheap and has Wood R4 now.
But can't hold anymore than 2gb Micro SD

The only reason why I bought it was for the Wood Firmware and nothing else... =\

  17. johnx

    johnx Well-Known Member

Well there's really no other reason to get an R4.

  18. ace1o1

    ace1o1 Well-Known Member

    Yeah.
Since it can't make a save file larger than 8MBs. :p
And all the other reasons that make it out of date.

I never knew flashcarts like that existed ???

I have TTDSi and it's doing fine.Never did anything bizarre to my DS.Only problem is there's hardly any updates. However it matters not since I have Acekard2i with the Akaio firmware and the EZ Flash 3 in 1.

And thank God my friends and I never heard of R4 back then.I've seen zillions of topics around here with ppl moping about the newest games not working on their R4's.

And boy the drama stirring in this topic over flashcarts ::)

    Flashcarts = Srs Business

I understand this is the "advice for noobs about which flashcards not to buy" thread but there's a big difference between "hmm maybe you should try getting a better card because it's not worth the money" and "OMG WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT BUY"

If you're going to make a list I think it's pointless if you don't give a description of what to look for (in case there are fakes) and what may be wrong. A description for EACH card.
Otherwise you're just going to confuse people (ESPECIALLY the noobs you're trying to "help") because they or their friends have R4 cards and they think it's dangerous now. You might cause unnecessary panic.

Also, what is wroing with M3 DS Real?
There's only one known fake (the adaptes), the differences are easy to spot. If you had better descriptions you could add how to spot a fake and actually help someone.
The only other reason to maybe avoid it is because the guy who made that software never got paid or something. But I doubt people care to join that boycott.
