Earliest written records are from around 6000 years ago, although if you count cave paintings as records, they go back long before that. Then you have to consider the fact that the Earth supported life as long as 180 million years ago, the course of evolution just didn't go down the same path it eventually went down until around 100,000 years ago.
So it's entirely possible that intelligent beings exist on other planets. It's also perhaps worth mentioning that there are planets much older than Earth in the universe.

So I think we can agree that quite possibly other lifeforms can live out there somewhere too, as long as they have similar conditions to us

Yes, its not just possible but probable. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest to see it on the news tomorrow.
Its the whole alien abduction and conspiracy theories that I don't believe.

Probably. Even if we cant prove they exist, we also cant prove that they dont exist either.
I believe they exist though. Probably from all the Star Trek I watched....

This could be the case too, although their body makeup would be significantly different to ours then I'd presume :L
But I would think that they would need energy to survive? A source of energy like being near the Sun (or some other star at least) Since many of the other planets around Earth have chemical elements there too, but no signs of life, and the conditions for those planets seem to be unsuitable for life (being too hot or cold). Well that was a passing thought anyway xD

It's entirely possible for life to exist on these planets, there hasn't been any life as complex as us found in conditions like these, but there is life at the bottom of the sea out of the sunlight, near vents releasing extreme amounts of heat, etc. I even remember something about some kind of plants (or so they are believed to be) on Mars. Life has not been found on other planets in our solar system because we haven't been to other planets yet.

Who knows maybe the real alien lives in the Sun as the Sun is the biggest in our solar system. The heat may be what is preventing Humans to know where they exists ;D

It's been said before, statistically speaking there's a high likelihood of extraterrestrial life. We can't be the only planet in the "sweet spot" for carbon-based life, or indeed any life based on an element. I saw a cool thing a while ago on the possible biology of silica-based lifeforms in a symbiosis with a weird carbon-based mucus. Point is, conditions need to be right for life to develop, but they could happen at any time and any place. We could be the first life form in the universe, for all we know. Or we could be the last.

God fucking dammit, I hate this place so much.

UFOs are probably more often than not either private aircraft/experiments, secret experiments, experiments/prototypes by other nations, human error or simply natural phenomenon.

Well, as you can see, most alien sighting by a huge group of people, mostly by hundreds, would be told that what they have seen is a private aircraft/experiments, secret experiments, experiments/prototypes by other nations, human error or simply natural phenomenon. There must be some things that they want to kept classified so as to to frighten the humans.

But as for UFO sightings, I've seen a thing or two...well. One thing I can't explain, but the others were just meteorites.
