It is part of the galaxy. The galaxy is faaaaaaaaar bigger than just our measly solar system. A moon, by the way, is a celestial body orbiting a planet. Orbiting the sun doesn't make it a planet. Asteroids and comets orbit the sun, too.

I say they do but we're to far behind some and ahead of others to actually meet them. If people think we're the only "intelligent" life forms anywhere then we are frickin' stupid.
Agree ;D Try imagine this, Alien comes to Earth officially to the alien research center in Earth. I can't wait to see their faces ;D
Maybe they have already caught some aliens in secret? ;D Post Merge: [time]1290851678[/time] Just a joke. Alien: *&^!*&^@#$ Human:EEKKK!!! Aliens are here!!!! Alien:&^%&^%*!!!!! (Aliens!!!!)
In alien planets, there is no need for stand-up comedy, Oprah, and porn. They access Aliennet, and get their laughs, tears, and orgasms watching idiots denounce their existence. Must rock to be technologically advanced.
I would say a better sign that we are far behind, is that people assert things are real, without having any evidence for it. When humanity learns to be objective, skeptical and rational, then i believe we will advance. As for now, most people just believe whatever makes them feel good, without any regard to evidence or rationality. Do aliens exist? No one knows! There is definitely a very strong possibility that they do, but as of yet, there is no evidence for them.
i'm not saying its absolute but to go just by our judgements of "life" and denounce all else is frickin' retarded
Well, yes, it is retarded to assert that carbon life is 100% the only possible life, or that there certainly isn't any alien life in the universe. It is equally retarded to claim with 100% certainty that there are other forms of life. The only rational approach is to admit that we don't know. On my part, i would find it totally awesome if we did find alien lifeforms, even if it was a single celled organism.
Exactly! That is why we must keep an open mind to most of the unknown things out there. There always is a possibility...And editing my quotes from before I meant SOLAR SYSTEM, and not galaxy...my bad, folks! Whoever doubts any possibility of alien species is doubting the logics of space travel in the future. :
It's more like doubt of existence of life. Just because we can travel in space doesn't mean there's necessarily anything for us to find.
Well yeah, what I am trying to say is that, WHEN we do land on some planet in our cool space ships, we have proven that with modern technology can go beyond the limits of our galaxy and our intelligence. Its proves that with we are able to find something worth looking into no matter what alien subspecies exist out there in the universe...I tend to keep my fingers crossed at all times...heehee!
i hope one does come so it could make friends and if not kill us all (i'd blame the governments and bigots for that one with thier "experiments")
Is this really what would happen though? I could see it happening if they got the alien without anyone knowing. But if the alien made his presence publicly known, the government would most likely try to shows us that they are interested in diplomacy, no?
