Im all for the death penalty when its beyond doubt that the person was murdered.
Also paedophiles should be given the death penalty, theres absolutely no excuse/mitigating circumstances when it comes to having sex with a child.

Okay, first of all, just to correct you, the death penalty is not given to a single murderer under general circumstances. They serve 10 to life imprisonment. However if, say I planted a bomb in somebodies house, and they had a wife and three kids who all died, I would be given the death penalty. That also depends on the judge.

Second, is there no excuse? Not even if the child asks for it? Or if the child begs for it? Or if the child forces it? Should the molester still be murdered even if the child asks for it, but then denies asking for it?

it's known as rape either way.....but i feel they should be given life, because if they get the death penalty, they get relief from their conscience....it's either that, or so many years, and suffer being registered as a sex offender, death penalty, basically, gives the people what they want....

So you believe that it's fair to take a life for a life?

Also if they are molesting kids its usually kids under 10. So yeh they deserve to die for that.

    Depending on circumstance yes.
If somebody tortued your child to death do you think they should get the death penalty?

This brings back memories of jamie bulger.

Many years ago a two year old was abducted from a shopping centre (mall to americans) by two other kids aged I think 8 and 10 (or maybe 10 and 12, at least one of them was below the age of criminal responsibility). They walked him for two miles to a rail yard where they sexually abused him and tortured him to death. Due to UK criminal law at that time, the judge was unable to sentence them to life as whatever sentence he passed would be ended when they reached the age of 18 or 21 (cant remember which). Said age duely arrived a few years ago and they were released, issued with new identities and moved to undisclosed locations to restart their lives.

One of them is now back in jail for possession of child pornography.

I'm still not entirely on board with why children are treated so differently in the eyes of the law. It seems to be a purely emotional thing, and that's a bad way to develop laws. Personally I think that children aged 7 and over are perfectly aware of what they are doing and should be tried as adults for most crimes. The parents should also probably be punished in some way. As for the death penalty; it's a completely pointless form of punishment. It punishes the wrong people and the only way I can ever see it being useful is if the person in question is too dangerous to keep alive or release again, in that case maybe they should be killed or at the very least used as slave labour.

How are paedophiles dangerous? They are pretty much the exact same as rapists.

Repeat offenders should certainly have their freedoms taken away, but to wish them dead is a bit over the top, if you ask me. The problem is pedophiles are attracted to children, yet to engage with them sexually is both illegal and social taboo. It's similar to being a homosexual a hundred years ago, except of course even meeting in secret is impossible.

They shouldn't be given a chane to reoffend, think about the child, what must they feel? how has it affected their lives?
raping a child is as bad a crime as killing them in my opinion.
I dont mean people with child porn on their computer should be hanged or anything like that, i mean proper criminal pedophiles that have harmed a child.

I would disagree, everyone has the right to make a mistake, whether it be fueled by drink or whatever. To hand over such a harsh punishment so quickly does more harm than good. A more fitting punishment would be castration in my opinion, that way repeat offences would still be stopped and that person can continue to be a productive member of society. Also their family would be spared their grief.

There was this man awhile back that was in prison for life. He killed his inmate so he could get on death row.

Btw, how much would it cost to keep a man in prison versus just killing them?

how would you feel if your child was raped. Would you forgive the man who raped him just because he may have been drinking. Even if your drunk you still know what your doing. Some people pretend they dont know so they can get away with it.

You're bringing emotion into it again. Laws should be based on equal treatment, justice and logic, not emotional responses to an event.

    1. What a selfish thing to do. Kill your inmate so that you could escape your own life.
    2. As a matter of fact, the death penalty is more expensive than life imprisonment.
