Computer Boot up problems

    okay, I got them form....everywhere. I forget from where. just EVERYWHERE.

    Heres the things though:

    Microsoft Windows Milenum Eddition Startup Menu

    Choose an option:

    1. Normal
    2. Logged (/bootlog.txt)
    3. Safe Mode
    4. Step by step confirmation

    entered 4

    Process system registry: Y
    (flash)
    (Similar screen)
    Windows didnt start correctly blahblahblah

    Chose 4

    Create startup log file: Y
    Enable SmartDrv disk cache: N
    Loading and initializing IFSHLP.sys Driver
    Complete
    Load all Windows Drivers: N
    Override standard IFSMGR: Y

    Starts in Safe mode.

    ME is a load of shite, you want 98SE or 2000 professional.

    if its a driver related issue you can try uninstalling the sound device in safe mode, and running drivercleaner to delete the driver.
    ME doesnt have that option.

    I agree with Loony, get another OS. I've had ME for a couple years when I lived at my parents and it's the worst OS I've ever touched and it's given me nothing but problems.

    where do I get driver cleaner? Ive never heard of it.

    come on, I actually like ME. it hasnt given me any proplems cept for this. and I probally caused it.

    and how to uninstall sound driver...? (not my expertise in dealing with drivers and such)

    open device manager, select the device in question and press delete. Confirm and reboot after running drivercleaner. when it tries to reinstall the sound cancel the add new hardware wizard.

    loony is right you need a better OS. they're free anyways.

    Anyway, I fixed the boot up thing. bad nVIDIA driver.
