    That must suck...

Though my teeth are blunt, so I can't eat steak sadly :(

Anyway, just cold ham, pasta salad, and some random salad thing (tomatoes and cucumber were in it...and onions) was my LUNCH

My family totally skipped dinner because as usual they broke out into a fight about what to have...Wasn't until 10:30pm that I I had fried rice which was brought home thanks to mum (I went straight to sleep after lunch...).

Life in my family is weird and un-christmas-y.

Those red & green bits are one of three things:

    1. Gulaman, it's gelatin, but not the flavored kind. Or if it were flavored it would have pandan as its flavor:

    2. In the case of how my mom & I prepare it, those red &/or green bits would be Kaong:

    or,

    3. Nata de Coco:

Here are wikipedia articles on them:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nata_de_coco <- Nata de Coco
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gulaman <- Gulaman
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaong <- Arenga pinnata, the palm tree that bears the fruit we call Kaong.

AND, if you're interested, here's a recipe for Filipino fruit salad ;)

    Ingredients
5 large cans of Del Monte Fruit Cocktail (Imported)
Grated Coconut meat from 10 buko (young coconut)
1 small bottle nata de coco (green)
1 small bottle nata de coco (red)
    1 small bottle kaong (green)
    1/4 kilo seedless grapes
3 small china apples , cubed
    1/4 kilo seedless grapes
    1 can condensed milk
    2 packs Nestle Cream
    1 can Peaches for topping
Few red or green cherries for topping

    fresh bukonata de coco

    fruit cocktailpeaches
    Fruit Cocktail, Peaches

    Procedure
    1. Drain the fruits from the can for at least 2 hours. This is to prevent a soggy fruit salad.

    2. When all the juices have been drained, mix all the fruits together in a bowl.

    3. Add the condensed milk and cream till well blended.

    4. Transfer to serving bowls and top with peaches and cherries.

    5. Freeze or Refrigerate properly. (Buko spoils if not refrigerated or frozen. I prefer to freeze the rest of the buko salad if it isn’t eaten within the day.
