killing animals reduces the diversity of the ecosystem, so as well as killing the planet it also means that future generations will never get to see such beautiful creatures.

Imagine if we had no animals, grass wouldn't live.. no grass, animals wouldn't live no humans, no difference, since we are the ones destroying it... now I'm kind of thinking the Evil Scientist background is made by people who want to destry humanity..because they are nature lovers...

not all animals, only the wild [not in reference as in fierce and deadly] ones such as tigers, lions, wolfs, monkeys, etc.... we will have our regular cows and pigs. besides, we can clone them and they're just as good.

Nope, cloning is a bad thing, it decimates the gene pool making the creatures a lot more vulnerable to disease etc. and should the gene base used for the cloning be faulty, the animals would have difficulty surviving.

i'm not sure if it was england or not but they started cloning animals and selling their meat to people. it will actually start soon in america, but the fda are still trying to make standards and the necessary steps.

It wasn't england.. We cloned the first animal I believe, but they could never sell meat from cloned animals because of the public outcry that would result. Genetically modified produce is still boycotted, and I believe cloning has now been banned due to public pressure (i.e they're scared that they will eventually end up eating cloned food)

If it's a clone, wouldn't it be the same as the real thing? only if it was perfectly cloned...

In theory, yes, but there is a massive social stigma attached to cloning, partly influenced by religion (scientists are trying to 'play god'), partly influenced by the sensationalist media who exaggerate and sometimes even completely invent news, while painting everything in the worst possible light and subsequently in part influenced by a complete lack of understanding of what cloning actually involves.

but shouldn't science be a good thing regardless as what some classical economists believe.
some economists believe that science will be the solution to solve social problems.
with cloning, we can mass produce food [clone vegetables and meat] and would solve some of the food shortages around certain regions and the world. the population is increasing every year, so eventually food will be short and you'll need a new solution to solve it. should cloning be a first step to solving the problem.

yes, but before cloning can be a solution, the public have to accept it. As things stand, as soon as a scientist mentions the word 'cloning' all the religious fanatics jump down his throat and the media encourages everyone else to.

  11. wait, wait, wait.....wait wait....waaaaaaaaait a minute

your saying that scientific methods have been proven, and you believe in witchcraft....
does anyone but me see the contradictions in that sentence?

not all religious people are against cloning, i'm religious and I'm for cloning, so we are able to dagnose people with cancer, I ahve an uncle with a servere case, so that really changes the outpoint of things.. but where in the world did they come up with cloning being inhumane? It's a different person, just with the same DNA, who knows it can help sterile women experience birth sometime soon, but unfortunately, the anti people do not understand, i'm only 14 thoguht, ut I bet i understand concepts more tahn over 90% of the people on earth, that is only due to the fact that the stubbornness, or need to follow such a thing is the main factor blinding us.

I'm for cloning, and some time, people shouldn't complain, it is a benefit, and religious people should mind their selves, who cares if someone else is doing it? Personal space, man! It's like me walking up to an athiest and saying: Hey man, you're going to hell if you don't believe in my religion. Intrusion of private matters, that's the real war of religion...

    AND THAT WAS ON TOPIC!!!
