    Why, what is your definition?

Huh? Not you, I meant ultra what's-his-face.

Anyway, I think perfection means being without any flaws. But then, you gotta define a flaw, god dammit... And then I wonder what flaws ultra thinks are?

Oh right! :p I was wondering, I honestly couldn't see the flaw in my definition, I thought it was perfect! ;)

wow! there are 4 people who believe in what damanali have said.
here are the 4 people, natewlie, messo messo, gaynorvader and scent.

Factories do build computers. Modern microchips contain so many logic gates in such a small place that humans could not possibly create them, so we have made machines that are capable of the precision needed to construct these chips. I think you may have just misunderstood what damanali was saying.

I don't see how anything here has to do with what dam said.

yes but theres only 5 in this really
here are the 5 people, natewlie, messo messo, gaynorvader and scent.
    and you

tbh i dont even know what your arguing over its like arguing just for the sake of it

I never seen anybody build a computer by themselves before. I always see them being built in factories by factory workers. I always bought them in the store, piece by piece or as a package deal, then brought home to be assembled. So, I never make built a computer by myself. If i did, i would be the first to bypass the 3.something Ghz and have the first 4 or even faster processor. I would even build a 9800 on a motherboard instead of a separate thing. more than 10Gb of ram, a built-in sub-woofer on the inside of the pc case and even a projector for a monitor...

Is that what ultra is saying I support? So Ultra, have you built your own computer? Did you not buy it? If so, pls, let us see your specs with pics!

About the software not being perfect because humans are not perfect. You are just referring to just 1 software engineer? To build a software that would be perfect, it will take a lot of persons, correcting anothers mistake. If this person has a fault, then someone will correct it. It will take time, but like I said, it will be in the future. And i dont base that on a movie. I base it from past software to the current software.

Also, i'm flattered to think that those 4-5 people agrees with me, but you are making another assumption. I have never seem those people agreed with me, i'm positive to assure you that they will make their own views about this topic. Pls, dont make assumptions on what they believe or not.

Last, factories making factories? You made my day.

The thing is, a human had to make the first factory that then made another factory and so on.

And back to topic -.- The only way that I think that computers can replace teachers is if they give the "computer" feelings like a human.

NOT in our lifetime at least. There doesn't exist AI intelligent enough to "be a teacher" and won't be likely to exist until way way in the future.

Actually after some initial teaching the use of expert systems could replace teachers. People always seem to judge the cutting edge AI by what they've seen in games, but the best AI techniques used in computer games to date is from the 40s or 50s, AI has come a lot further. Emotions and complexity are about all that differentiates us from artificial neural nets.

okay, factories build computers and in the future programming will not be problematic.

    you win!

Sadly, student cannot bond with computer. Some teachers are kind and compassionate, and removing them would certainly change the way students perform in class. But those teachers who are incompetent should be replaced, for they are a waste of space and/or time. So, maybe Yes/No. Maybe some subjects are teachers and some are computer stuff (multitasking allowed :D) What if the school gets a blackout and all of the subjects are computer operated? Whohoo! Kidding.

Im not gonna read all the comments but if i a computer replaces a teacher wouldnt that mean no school and no school means no friends as they will probably be in homes besides that it would make a ridiculous amount of people lose there jobs which just aint right.

the only thing that computer beat human in processing power, nothing more.

so that make computer to be the best calculator.

computer cant solve anything without the right input of data in the database, and decision making algorithm in their programming.

there is a term we used in programing class that my lecture always remind us.... GIGO, short for Garbage In - Garbage Out, It mean no matter how smart a computer is, will still process whatever the user give it, if you give garbage information, it will process that garbage and give you a garbage result.

That is just how smart a computer really is.

Actually the human brain has greater processing power than any computer, it's just a lot of it is taken up by background processes :)

Recent research into AI has yielded computers that aren't as "stupid", but teaching doesn't really need creative thinking (apart from creative writing, art, etc)

Probably not now but in a few years when computing really advances. Also would a robotic teacher be classed as a computer
