Is it me, or that's just after the intro sequence, where they blow up a planet, or whatever? If it is, then man, I'm way past that part, and it hasn't crashed. I have tried with SNES9x now, and it goes fine, except there is no background when battling, but it hasn't crashed. I would recommend ZSNES for this one, it seems it emulates Star Ocean better than SNES9x. Download it at http://emulator-zone.com/download.php/emulators/snes/zsnes/zsnesw151.zip. It won't crash. :)

so... i downloaded the game and the new emulator... extracted it and now... i will try to use Star Ocean (J) [T+Eng1.0_DeJap].smc... thanks... ill try to post if something terrible happens again..

  3. I seem to remember Dejap and zsnes were active around the same timeframe. I think Dejap used zsnes for testing their work! So I'd be very surprised if Star Ocean caused problems in that emulator.

Have fun with it. Oh, one last thing - when you finally beat the game visit that grassy patch in the Colosseum. You'll know where I mean when you get there. You'll be surprised...

i'll try the snes9x later... erm... do i need plugins??

i think i figured out the problems...

after the battle scene... either the sound disappears or it gets messed up...

after a few seconds there... the game freezes...

You don't need any plugins or anything. You might need the graphics pack though, tell me if it does indeed need one for Snes9x.

Yeah. I was just saying, as there's an option to load game's graphics packs for certain games, probably those ones who used more extensive graphics.

So no graphics pack needed? It probably has one in the ROM. Some games need external graphics packs since they have processors that are hard to emulate, due to compression.

  14. Dejap's version does indeed contain a graphics pack in the translation, if memory serves. Those guys were real completionists when they were active.

Yeah they also did Bahamut Lagoon, but a crap job, I settled for the real english version of that.
