So I guess the Chinese are now over reacting over the whole deal like the Americans were with Muslims eh?

I completely agree, this is really a huge shame. I bet those patriots couldn't say they're still "proud to be pinoy", or saying "mabuhay" when almost all the hostages were dead. amateurs can't handle such situations. what a shame >_<

or L4D and pretend that the hostages were all zombies so they could throw a pipe bomb inside the bus -_-

I'm also fearing for my cousin in Hong Kong who's living and working there with her husband and daughter (not an OFW by the way). I'd be really sad if she ends up fired due to this.

My sister too is staying in China, so I'm hoping she won't be going through any trouble.

Our Graduate School was planning a trip to China but most of the people can't afford it, 900 US dollars... come one, its way to expensive and its just for fare and hotel accommodation, you still need to bring pocket money and that might goes to more than a grand in total expenses.

But thanks to this "bullying" by chinese immigration and people, i think they would postpone the event.

on a side note, not to offend our working class, i dont get these chinese, they have more than a billion people and they still get workers from other countries to serve them like OFW-Domestic helpers and other manual labors... What gives?

As if the Chinese in China haven't done worse :p

Remember that melamine incident & how they killed a Tiger cub because of it over a year ago?

Or that scandal involving a factory making burger buns out of cardboard boxes?

It was a lion cub that died of melamine poisoning, as well as a load of human kids. I believe its happened again since (different company and less widespread though)

    Ouch! That's terrible.

Anyway, further development on the whole hostage taking scenario:

This was just aired a few hours ago on the evening telecast of the News on GMA 7 (One of the networks who documented the whole ordeal).

    http://www.gmanews.tv/video/65551/24oras-female-friend-brought-hostage-taker-mendoza-to-intramuros

I'm sorry if it's not in English, but the gist of the report was that Mendoza's friend did felt that something was a bit off with her friend, but NEVER did she guess that Mendoza would do something so insane.

Just my thoughts girlfriend.... "Trust your woman's intuition, it often is correct".

What is the purpose of of the woman telling that to the media?
She just admitted to being an accomplice to the hostage-taking.
She is not under threat by Mendoza, meaning, it was her free will to help the guy.

Please, somebody explain to me why she has to do that.

  10. Cahos Rahne Veloza

Cahos Rahne Veloza The Fart Awakens

She was feeling guilty, seeing as if she had followed her gut feeling that something was wrong that she could have stopped it all.

And no, she is not an accomplice to the hostage taking incident. All she did was let the guy use her car as a means to get to Fort Santiago. Had he snapped right then & there she could've been a hostage herself.

She was even concerned as to why Mendoza was fully armed & geared, but seeing as Mendoza's excuses were plausible & she was probably used to see the guy armed so she just complied.

Ah, thank you for explaining that. Its the least we need right now. Cause of what she did , she could be blamed by those Chinese as an accomplice and another wave of angry passport throwing incident will occur again.

But in my opinion, she should have just kept quiet about it. Cause bringing it up, especially to the media and not to the investigator only adds to the problem. The media is known to sensationalize things like this.

I wonder why the people didn't noticed him carrying an M16? I thought the PNP was banned in bringing high-powered weapons in public areas? I think it was highlighted with that robbery incident at a mall....

Could you really have the strength to keep that all in if it were you? Also, ever read Edgar Allan Poe's "Tell Tale Heart"? To be honest I rather had her speak than being as cold, stern & heartless as Andal Ampatuan is. It just proves that she IS human & also feels somewhat to blame.

I think she does know that her going public like that might incite more negativity that's why she didn't reveal her face & true identity to avoid just that. Also, I too am hoping that she first contacted the authorities/investigators before she went & did that interview.

Err... how many "good" cops do you know of are there? Most of 'em break the very ordinances that they should be enforcing for a buck :p

But yeah, weren't the Bus Driver, the Tour guide or even the photographer alarmed by the guy's gun!? Or, maybe they did, I mean, would you have the guts to say no to a person sticking a gun at your face?

Hmmm... I guess tour buses better start using Bulletproof glass & shielding for windows & the buses' bodies to prevent such incidents in the future then eh? Let the hostage taker shoot at the bus from the outside so he can get in all he wants as the bus is bulletproof to protect the tourists.

    just a question...

do you think the president is to blame? LoL.. they're saying that they're "grading" him bad for his first bad scenario...

i mean come on... HE IS NOT SUPERMAN! he cant fly in there, get shot at and beat the crap out of the bad guy...

    but still...

i told you... you should have voted for gibo... :) haha kidding... X3

Well, PNoy should not be blamed... he is our national leader, petty incidents like this goes to local authority. Thats why we got the DILG.

Mostly, these problems should be handled by the Local Leader, in this case is the Mayor of Manila. To be honest, i'm really grateful with Isko Moreno, the Vice-Mayor... he was really good with the negotiation. Alfredo Lim... damn... he was a former police chief and he can't even handle one of his "ka baro" or fellow policeman.

If there was someone to be sacked, Mayor Lim's head should roll out. He even denies that he didn't ordered the arrest of Mendoza's brother... but admit he ordered the brother to be handcuffed....

In my understanding, when you are handcuffed... your arrested or unless it has something to do with erotic things...gross.....

I agree with Cahos' post #805
Would seven lives be enough for the thousands of lives you took because of melamine, you should be the one owing us an apology China.

Did you feel the irony when LoonyLION commented about the LION cub?

I think Hong Kong would give the Philippines another name... From the "Nation Of Slaves" to the "Nation Of Criminals"
-_- I'm just so disappointed in the Philippine Police and it's SWAT(Sugod Wait Atras Tago) (Forward Wait Back Hide)

Um, the last news i got about that melamine china brought... those responsible for it where either imprisoned or killed. That is what China wants us to do.

we are extremely kind that we only sack, not imprison or kill those who are guilty policemen and officials.

    HELLO!? :p

Teh hostage taker/killer WAS Killed was he not!?

What does China want? We getting on our knees & licking their balls & say Derr ke durr we sorry d'uh err!?

    F*ck that!

It was just an unfortunate incident for Pete's sake :p

Go build a time machine & avert it if they want, sheesh.

This is what you get when a powerful nation bullies small incapable nations.

Somehow I now share Eric Cartman's concerns on this episode of South Park:

    EDIT:

I just had to use spoiler tags on my comment above, I posted that two hours ago out of annoyance. I've cooled off a bit, but I still stand by what I said that's why I did not remove it.
