I didn't expect that there would be so many Filipinos here in Romulation!

Anyways, I was born in Davao City and lived there for most of my life until my family moved here to Chicago a few months ago.
I've been a member for quite a while now... mostly downloading and leaving a few posts on the forum.
So are there any pinoys here who also live in Chicago? let's hook up!

@Cahos: Umm.. Can you please post the updated list of pinoys here in Romulation? It might help me with my homesickness..

Hiya there... also Pinoy, Spent 17 of my years in the Philippines, now a Malaysian... still miss home, too lazy to translate this to tagalog so meh. ,I'm half chinese & half filipino....

God I miss eating tinola and kare-kare.... :-X

I pretty much eat anything though, I don't eat pork,shrimp,lobster,squid, & crab.... well to summarise my meat is:
chicken,Scaled Fishes,Beef....

It's Kare-Kare.... whats so bad about it... its epic! except when it stains your clothes. :'(

 

Sorry about my last post on this thread. I was annoyed at something unconnected to this thread and vented my anger into a very stupid post. I have no excuse for the horrible words I said, and I hope never again to repeat such rubbish on either these boards or any other. I am really sorry.

Anyway, I need to address several IMPORTANT rules on RomUlation.net for all you newbies who have been posting on here:

1. Mandated by the almighty seph over a year ago:

"RomUlation is a ENGLISH language speaking only forum, ergo there should be little to no, foreign language being used to communicate on this thread & especially else where.

2. Make use of good grammar, as much as you could or are capable of

We have a resident Grammar Nazi on this forum, namely "Moderasian", he strictly enforces the use of good grammar to the best of one's capabilities. This doesn't mean you need to have excellent grammar &/or spelling skills as I admit that I too slip a lot, especially with spelling

3. RomUlation.net DOES NOT ACCEPT THE USE OF CHAT, SMS &L33T SPEAK persuant to rule number two. What this means is, do as best as you can to write out your words fully, DO NOT SHORTEN WORDS such as "bcuz", "pls.", "thnx" etcetera.

Now, with that in mind, I HOPE I WILL NO LONGER SEE POSTS LIKE THese:

Just think of this as an active exercise to develop our writing/typing skills to a professional level.

If you are having problems with posting in English, just type out the best you can, we won't laugh at you if your English sounds excruciatingly bad, instead we will help you out to further develop your skills & though I'm not around a lot I hope the others who do post here will.

Key:

Passive - people who log onto the forum once or twice then never to be seen again.

As for a meet up party, or what we call an EB, sounds interesting. About a year ago bhatooth suggested something of the sort but back then it seemed impractical since there were very few of us to begin with. If you guys are really up for one, I say why not?

Just a few things I'd like you guys to consider though:

1. It must be held in the vicinity of Metro Manila, like in one of our local Malls, EXCLUDING Mall of Asia, Glorietta & other places that are way, way southern. Megamall or Trinoma are good as those two places are well known these days.

2. Don't hold it in Starbucks, Taco Bell or any of those "Yuppy" places, as I hate mingling with the upper crust. As one suggested, having it done in MacDonald's would be fine. Heck I say let's just meet up at a street corner or what we call a kanto & I'd be happier LOL!

3. Remember that we are not all children here, most likely most of you are teens or even pre-teens so expect to be in for a shock at best.
