well, i followed your advice strictly as you know more about this than i do, and its cheaper and better for my first built.

and about the cores, i didnt choosed higher than a dual core because a friend of mine said it will heat faster. i still dont know if thats true, but i'll upgrade it if i'm not happy and still have the funds.

also, can you tell me if i should buy more fans on it? and if possible, can it run without adding those fans as soon as possible because i know someone who can give me a rock-bottom price for the fans here so it will not be costly for me.

I don't notice any difference between the heat produced by my quad core and the heat produced by the dual I had before it. (the dual core probably produced more because it was a higher wattage). In your case the quad would probably produce more but I doubt it would be significantly more. I would see how that case is, if the temps are a bit high then you can add fans or replace them with better ones, but the ones the case come with look fine.

newegg's purchases comes with those rebates thing thru mail i think? how thus that work? Like if i buy a 100 bucks for a software then it says 89.99 after rebate or something, does that mean i'll get 10 bucks in the mail?

i never tried online shopping but i heard good things about it,especially from trusted sellers and friends.

it means you have to fill in a form and send it in then they eventually send you the rebate.

so is rebate like a discount? but instead of taking it from the tag price, you pay full price then they will get the discounted price and give you back the extras money thru that mail? i never use those rebates and i think they dont that that here, too.

its effectively a discount after you've bought the item, yes.

Is is possible to change the OS of the laptop, like if it was bought with a vista, then change to xp?

probably, it mainly depends on if you can find XP drivers for the hardware.

ok, thanks for that info. but um, if the laptop can manage to run with a vista, shouldn't it should run xp with no problem?

vista and XP drivers are significantly different, and some manufacturers have stopped producing XP drivers as part of micro$oft's attempts to force everyone to upgrade. This happens every time a new OS is released.

ah, thanks, i understand now, last thing, how can i find those drivers? do i need to buy and find out or its in the specification before buying? every laptops now has vista os, unlike desktops, which i can choose what os it will run.

you need to find out what chipset (not CPU) and other hardware is in the machine (make and model) and then you look up each item of hardware on the manufacturer's site (the item manufacturer, not the laptop manufacturer) and see if they offer XP drivers for that item. It's also worth checking the laptop manufacturer's site as they will sometimes offer xp drivers.
