bit of extra info that might be out of date: the quietest sounds I can hear are 117dB in my left ear and 90dB in my right.

I'm at a friend's house in Wisconsin (Eat cheese or die) and about to go to his mother's place for a birthday party (he's nearing retirement ;P).. we've looked at your situation and the Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus is about the only one that will work with 4 full ram slots using your chosen ram (as far as we can tell), however newegg says that ram is no longer available so you might have to change it.

okay, i searched newegg...i'm only coming up with 2 based on spec searches..

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=40000147%20600006066%20600006139%20600052012&IsNodeId=1&srchInDesc=mushkin&Description=DDR3&bop=And&ShowDeactivatedMark=False&CompareItemList=147|20-226-132^20-226-132-TS%2C20-226-127^20-226-127-TS

which the following look pretty decent to...

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226123&cm_re=DDR3-_-20-226-123-_-Product

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226101&cm_re=DDR3-_-20-226-101-_-Product

    so what would work best?

    alienware suck, don't touch them.

the first is even taller than the original ram you chose, and reviews also state it has issues with AM3. the second should work.
