    Yeah.

Post the text in the INI if you can find one, then we will help you solve this problem...

No, you can't turn updating off. I found one at angelfire but the bbsetup.exe was not found. Maybe there might be an old computer floating arround with bbsetuphom.exe or ad1.exe. If someone finds it, please upload to Rapidshare. Then, this could be the offical Bonzibuddy fan thread.

I'm sure that we won't be able to access REALLY old computers...Most of the older computers that I have encountered were second hand and had their HDD wiped and had linux installed.

Go to the directory of BonziBUDDY and then post the text in the INI file if one is found there..

    I guess
    C:\Program Files\Bonzi\BonziBUDDY
    or
    C:\Program Files\BonziBUDDY

What is there to like about Bonzi Buddy? They got sued to hell and back because of their product and got shut down. Nobody who cares about their computer in the least would ever put this program on it.

There is no .INI file. I am on x64 by the way.

I like his jokes, his facts, his songs, the way he laughs after every joke, his speak function, everything!

Then you'll be in a very lonely, one person fan club. The program was oriented towards children (under 10 or so), and most people here will want nothing to do with it.

I can't speak for everybody, but I figure the bulk will have enough common sense to not even try to deal with this.

Yeah. I just want the bbsetupad1.exe installer uploaded to Rapidshare so that I can install Bonzibuddy.

I thought we'd already established that it won't install without the server being available?

    1. You have it installed, even the latest version available.
    2. you don't need an installer, it only fails to check for updates.
    3. Nobody cares about infecting their computers for your pleasure.
    4. Why rapidshare. Mediafire is ten times as great.

Yup. Not so long ago a few times.
It needs to download files from that server, etc. etc.

Was the installer on your usb called bbsetup.exe?

Offline setup files are larger and they don't need download.

I don't think you understand. It will ALWAYS check for updates and try to redirect you to the site when it fails to connect with the server. Regardless of what you have, how you use it, that crucial step can't be skipped.

We already have somewhat one full page saying you don't need an installer but that it fails to check for updates...can a moderator explain it clearly and then lock this please? I BEG YOU...

I downloaded one from 4shared.com and it included a Bonzibuddy.dat file weighing 7.63MB

If you find a bonzibuddy.dat one, I can use that and it might update!

Do you honestly not understand at this point? Is it so hard to comprehend?

It does not matter what you have. You could have the most up to date version available, it will still always check for updates online. It will never be able to connect to the server, thus, you will never be able to make it work.

There is no work around, no way to get it working, nothing.

I think it's so hilarious how much work this guy's putting into trying to find malware to infect his computer.

    FREAKING MALWARE.
