    Funny fact.
    Twewy isnt exactely one "RPG",
    SMT is a RPG (yay)
FF4 is a remake, so in the end it isnt a 100% ds game
and KH.... humm its an RPG Oo?

    (not trolling, just pointing out)

BTW, how good is BoF3 ? I only played the BoF 4 and I liked it. Can I expect something better from the 3 :D ?

When someone says Breath of Fire, BoF III always comes to mind. To me, BoF III is the definitive Breath of Fire.

I'm glad that stupid argument over whether or not LoZ is an RPg is over. anyways my favs are.(in order of what I remember first)
    Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2
    Vagrant story
    Paper Mario
    Kingdom Hearts 1
    Fianl Fantasy VIII
Tactics Ogre (forget the second name but it was for the gba I think)
    Golden Sun I & II
    Megaman Legends I & II
Megaman Battlenetwork II (all the others can own up in terms of how hard this one is)
Fire Emblem Sacred Stones & Radiant Dawn
Pokemon Crystal (also for how hard it was at the end)
    Custom Robo (the GC one) {not shure if this counts as RPG but oh well}
Panzer Dragoon (also not shure if this counts as RPG)
and thats all I can remember for now.

Vagrant Story...I liked that game I wished they would have made more like it. Tactics Ogre: Knights of Lodis is the one on GBA there is also one on the Playstation but I can't remember if it has a sub name or not.

yeah Tactics ogre knights of lodis was the one I played. And the Fire Emblem games are all good. But got to amend somthing, the FF game I like wasnt FF7. cant remember which one but I know it was the one where you start the game as titus(I think thats the name) could someone tell which one it is?

I have to disagree with you on Fallout 3 having no storyline. Yes it is depressing, but that kinda is the point. It's a wasteland, a World destroyed. It's meant to feel barren and empty. I think the depth of the game is fantastic. There is so much variety in the quest plot's and the gameplay is fantastic.

Otherwise, some of my favourite RPG's include Crisis Core, FF7-12, Breath of Fire 3 and 4, The Last Remnant, Dungeon Siege 2, Golden Sun 1 and 2, StarOcean (The PS2 version, can't remember its exact name), Legend of Dragoon, Wild Arms 1, 2 and 4 (3 is horrible), and the Shadow Hearts series on PS2 are VERY VERY good!!

I've never tried Wild Arms 3 but Wild Arms 5 is pretty good too. Something you could look into if you can actually find the game. =/

Its Star Ocean: Till the End of Time BTW

Ha ha thanks ;D That's the one. Really enjoyed it.

Never knew there was Wild Arms 5. Will look into it for sure. 3 is well designed and has a lot going for it but the thing that turns me off that game is how difficult the monsters are, and how hard it is to level up. Takes hours to level up sufficiently for a dungeon and honestly I gave up not even halfway through the game.

Tombi is not really an RPG

You're right, it is probably more of a side-scroller but it has RPG elements

  18. grimsim1

    grimsim1 Well-Known Member

Yeah. It's more of a platformer but any RPG elements it does have, are very limited (probably the talking to people and doing quests for them). I just don't think they are enough to constitute it as an RPG. :) But that's just my opinion.

BTW you guys talking about Tombi or Tomba? I just have a feeling I know about the game, just with different name.
