Best Metal Bands

At The Gates, Dark Tranquillity and Old In Flames.
These bands are great, in my opinion.

But at the moment, I listen: Blood Red Throne, Omnium Gatherum, The Monolith Deathcult,
Gardenian, Gates Of Ishtar, Be'lakor, Aborted, Fleshmould, Insomnium, Dark The Suns, Paysage D'hiver,
Lunar Aurora and Aglarond. Anyone here, who knows the bands I listen?

 

At The Gates and In Flames I have heard, the rest you have listed I have not.

Can't remember if I mentioned these guys before but they're pretty good IMO.

 

Metallica, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, etc.. The Classics..

 

Very nice, makes two recommendations you have mentioned that I never heard of and ended up liking one being this and the other being Scar Symmetry.

 

Scar Symmetry`s new Singer sucks. Since they got this new Guy I`m no more intersted in the Band.

 

Really? I thought their new singers were pretty good myself. They're not Christian by any means, but they can certainly seem to hold their own at least.

 

I did a random pick from the bands MJOLNIR listed, some are not too bad, a few I can pass on, but I can't pass judgement until I hear a few more.

 

I've never been really into those death growls and other stuff. =/

I'm a complete whore for bands that manage to mix clean vocals with the screaming and growling in a way that actually makes it sound good though.

Bleeding Through does an excellent job of this on this album. I always find myself listening to this at some point.

 

King Diamond= GREAT MULTI OCTIVE VOICE, WONDERFUL HORROR STORIES, GREAT MUSIC, More Socially aware at times

Deicide= Great VOICE, BRUTAL MUSIC, AWESOME Lyrics, Nothing but pure blasphemy

My dying Bride= Great 2-3 octive style, depressing and yet knight in shining armor romance, Potent Lyrics to mesmerize the mind

Mercyful Fate= great occult subject matter, Beautiful multi octave range, music is complicated to stay with(just fast or easy to confuse notes) Great lyrics

Type O Negative=personal,sarcastic,depressing,Self Loathing. Great voice, music is made of that as if on a nighmares dreamscape, compelling and cacthy, and hypnotizing as well. Every album is something a little new, either in sound or lyrical content, but never strays from who and what TYPE O NEGATIVE IS

Each band hax been around for well over 10 or 15 years, King Diamond has been singing for both his bands King Diamond and Mercyful Fate for nearly 30 years

 

Slipknot is my favorite for the album All Hope Is Gone and Divine Heresy are good to. In Flames are also great but from what I've listened to a bit weak but good. ooh ooh ooh! there's also Bullet For My Valentine there awesome ;D

 

I like death growls but the screaming growls sometimes works, most if the time it doesn't usually 9 of 10 the music itself it draws me in. Like with Dethklok most of the lyrics are just silly, but I like the music.

Yes, I like my death metal I get just as much enjoyment from listening to Bolt Thrower,Bloodbath,Black Dahala Murder as I would listening to Korn,Metallica,Iron Maiden, hell there are times I will listen to bluegrass.

I do have a deep hate for Country,Rap,Hip Hop, and shit that the tween girls get all worked up over that I call "bubblegum music" as it sounds good for half a second and looses it flavor very quickly.

 

Lars definitely isn't as good as Christian, however Robert is pretty awesome. Very good depth in his vocals. Listen to The Iconoclast or Mechanical Soul Cybernetics. Also, At The Gates are definitely worth listening to for any melodeath fan.
