Pantera kicks the most ass. Metallica, and Iron Maiden do as well. and as for you heavy metal-heads give Superjoint Ritual a try.

Nice stereotype there pal. Allow me to counter-stereotype you now since you believe that everyone that listens to metal lives up to that.

Belgians:
- eat french fries every day and explain to every tourist that it's actually
'belgian fries'
- drink liters of beer every day
- hate the Dutch
- hate the Germans because they started the war (even twice!!)
- hate the Walloons if I'm Flemish
- hate the Flemish if I'm Walloon
- eat chocolate and waffles after the french fries
- go on vacation in Benidorm, Spain
- be ashamed of their national football-team
- complain about our poor results during the eurovision song contest
- laugh with the belgian royal family

To sum up my post, you're wrong and you clearly have no understanding of the ridiculous amounts of subgenres of metal(fun fact: Gothic metal is only one of many different types! *le gasp!*)

Havent heard much better bands than

Judas Priest ( Breaking the law)
AC/DC ( Let there be rock)
Saxon ( Wheels of steel)

 

I never could get into AC/DC I can tolerate most of it, but the lead singer grates my nerves. Airborne is on the same lines.

AC/DC is more of a rock band but they are widely accepted in the metal community due to their influence on the majority of bands. Personally I can't stand Airbourne either and most AC/DC songs, but I do love the classics like Highway To Hell etc.

uuh? I personally started enjoying the genre at 5 year old, and believe me I am not and especially wasn't goth at the time. Metal is for everyone who enjoys it.

I enjoyed the screaming as a teen, but the more I grow up, the more picky I get and I like it a bit less, but still good. Inflames screaming is more than awright to me.
I don't like Cryptopsy screaming, it doesn't make any sense at all and is not enjoyable at all IMO

I like metal 'cause it sounds a lot like final boss fight atmosphere in video games
Speaking of witch be sure to check out The Black Mages, band created by Nobuo Oematsu (THE John William of Square Enix responsible for most Final Fantasy soundtracks) and in which he is the keyboardist, and the band specializes in making Final Fantasy metal remixes. Very awesome!

 

I've recently been listening this band called Arkaea which is apparently a Fear Factory knock off of some sort. Its actually pretty good for what its worth. I've got the new Nightrage mixed in here too but I haven't really given that a proper sit through yet so I'll withhold my opinion on that one for now.

The new single for the upcoming Scar Symmetry is <3 though. I was worried about the old vocalist leaving but the new guys are doing a spectacular job IMO.

 

I'm stupid. I thought Christian left before Holographic Universe and a new vocalist recorded for it. I always thought Christian was slightly better than the vocalist on Holographic Universe, but they were the same person I'm glad to hear their new album is coming soon though. Name of the single?

 

Im thinking my selections are Heavy Rock,instead of Metal.When I was a bit younger,them bands were Heavy Metal.Ive not heard of most of you guys selections LOL

They're not really metal.

But they're like post-hardcore + prog. metal.

They blow me the fuck away. Absolutely amazing.

Heh, the song is actually pretty good. Vocalist seems to have included familiar melodies.
