Being EMO. What is Emo exactly?

Emo is an excuse for guys to act like little bitches.

Thats just a stupid thing to say,why you so judgemental,whats gives you the right to have a say on others peoples lives.

Just becasue a few people kill themselves and cut themselves dont mean they all do,its just people like you making dumbass comments like that which paints the picture.
If its awful why dont you do something about instead of bitching about it on a forum,you dont have any idea or a sense of reality do you.

EMOs are people who have lost their confidence and joy by people who judge them :-\

 

It's pretty easy to judge when they have already painted the picture themselves and everyone is in agreement including the emo's. You can keep crying about how awful your life is by painting your nails black and wearing super tight ass pants. But then, you're drawing attention to yourself, which is obviously the goal.

Now your last sentence confuses me. You ask me why don't I do something about "It" being awful instead of bitching about it on the forum, I'm confused about what "It" is. Then you question if I have any sense of reality. I think you should be asking the Emo's what their sense of reality is... which, I'm assuming you are also Emo since you are obviously very distraught about what I'm saying. Hey I have an idea, maybe you should do something about it instead of bitching on a forum.

I like how all Emo's throw out the whole, "You can't label us!" defense.

 

people with real problems don't draw attention to them selves.

you would not be able to tell that someone had issues if they where real as those with real ones are very good at hiding them.

also if you were depressed the last thing you would want to do is have people shout abuse at you for the way you look.

it's nothing more then attention whoring or a "fad" to look cool with your peers.

Everyone deserves to be treated like a human.

Emo isn't a lifestyle, it's like being homosexual.
Most people don't CHOOSE to be emo, or gay.

I can't believe people hate emos more than black people.
Granted both are annoying and are an eyesore.
Give them a chance, not all of them are bad.

While this was made to be a joke possibly judging from the last line (unless it's another ricky that I do not know) I kinda like the direction this is going.

I suppose being emo isn't all about wrist cutting, fashion sence or music, just a state of thought, but this could also be depression (depending if they do infact do wrist cutting or worse).

I have infact now met a true emo (that's thankfully stopped the wrist cutting).

What's disturbing, is the fact that despite this one being hyper active (a few disorders, OCD, possibly ADHD, hard to tell...she only told me about the OCD part but not why she's bouncing around...she tends to jump alot during parties) she doesn't actually attract much attention to herself.

She has the clothing, she has the hair, she does the poems, but out of the bunch...other than the fact we worry, she's usually at the back of our chats, activities, and if we interrupt her, she lets us continue and consider's what ever she might be trying to say as "void".

And with some of what's happened to her which I can't say because of how painful it would have been (and the fact that I shouldn't even know such matters) she is a typical case of emo...or depression.


Whatever the case, if they get in your face, THEN shun them, otherwise just be on equel ground and treat them like everyone else, and if they cut their wrist...tell them what a mate told my friend which made her stop.

Never by me. You're a good friend. And everyone is entitled to their opinion.

All I have to say is. If someone truely wanted to die, then they would be dead already. They wouldn't waste time telling people about it. Then again when someone says that they are going to kill themself, it may be deemed as a last stand to see if anyone cares.
