If there is no air in outer space, then why are they designing space shuttles with aerodynamics in mind?

 

Why is Space-shuttle aerodynamic? Because it uses the Earth's atmosphere in reentry ,to glide to it's landing spot.Therefore conserving the need for fuel in reentry procedures (2.2 degrees AoA in reentry ,i think...)
