I don't see why people say Macs are better for A/V editing and photo manipulation. How exactly are they? PCs do those things just fine...

As for me I'm a PC. Always have been, always will be.

Windows is unnecessarily resource heavy, and the intel 8086 processor (which PC processors are based on) was designed for text manipulation and nothing more, The Motorola PowerPC processors (which the mac used to use) were much more broadly focused.

Yeah but they've ditched the PowerPC processors now, yet people still argue Macs are better for those uses...Why?

the OS is less resource intensive.

The thing I've noticed with apples marketing, is they just make whatever looks "shiny" and cool, regardless of how useful the feature is. And it seems to sell ALOT of people.

I'm a PC user myself, I've tried a Macbook Pro but it couldn't handle or let alone do what my aged laptop could.

Well.... lets see here... I've got a custom built gaming PC with XP, A crappy Dell Laptop with XP and Linux, and an old MacMini w/ Tiger(G4 Processor) sooo... I'm all both.

PC all the way for me. Just because i'm so used to using them. And the customisation is better.

I have a PC, but I totally want a mac. Maybe having both would be cool!

I hate the commercials. I have Vista and although it's sometimes stupid, but everything they complain about Vista in the commercials can be taken off with a simple setting change even most of the time I get like no errors.

I don't like Mac for that reason mostly. I have no reason to change.

I also hate Apple, the iPod is the worst excuse of an MP3 player in the planet. My screen stopped working within a few days, then the hard drive crapped out.

Then I got a new one, then the screen broke partially. Then I bought a Zune and had no problems with it.

Obviously you didn't try to use it on new years eve/new years day then.

I also hate the Mac commercials. They've transformed from being clever and tounge-in-cheek to blatant attacks on Microsoft/Windows. Sure, Vista could've and should've been better but it really isn't as bad as Apple is making out. And Macs aren't perfect either. So, why can't the ads just showcase some of the truly great Mac features, like TimeMachine, rather than just constantly attack Windows?

same reason that politicians always go negative even if they are better than the other guy. your right though vista isnt AS bad as everyone makes it out to be but it does have severe problems. we had this discussion in one of my computer science classes recently and vista really is horrible my buddy just paid quite a bit for his new laptop and when it is running with mcafee going you really forget that the thing has six gigs of ram and runs slower than my old cheep a** compaq running xp i got at walmart

What Apple doesn't understand is, not every fu*cking PC user on the planet uses Vista. Many PC users actually prefer to downgrade their machines.

And a huge portion of people wanting to get a computer most likely get one to play games. Maybe if apple ported PC games, people would use them more? Maybe not? It seems it's more of a fashion statement to own an Apple more than anything else. And besides, Apples don't even have a 'Windows' key :p

Yeah, but does it downsize applications? Because my friend has a Mac, and he was playing WoW on it and it happened to freeze. The only choice we had was to restart the Mac in order to close WoW.

I have a PC, but I'd much prefer a Mac.

    But it's too expensive.

I have a PC, will always have a PC I hope.
There is nothing that Mac has that I would want or don't have on the PC.
They all look the same, you can't customize them, game support sucks, they're too expensive etc.
And I don't know about the rest of you, but buying a computer from a company that get's 39% of profits from a phone rather then anything computer related just dosen't seem like the best idea...

And yes, Vista sucks, which is why Windows 7 is already on route, from the looks of it however not much has changed.
I'm sticking with XP, espcially now that it got SP3 which did help quite a bit.
