Torrents are a hell of a lot safer than P2P (Kazaa anyone???:p). Though every now and then you get the bad egg, some of the keygens/cracks carry viruses, though nuke em with AVG and theres nothing to worry about, usually if you spend a few mins you can find a clean keygen/crack.

I have demonoid invites too (though reg is open at the moment?), PM me if you need one, though they wont be given to just anyone.

Man this topic's a few months old, but just as a conclusion:

I've been using torrents for a while now, great deal for tracking down Discographies, only thing is if the .torrent file has few to zero seeds, so no matter how kewl a collection a .torrent file has to offer, but with no seeds you won't be enjoying it.

So far I've not encountered any bad egg, so Yay! ;D

Another issue I'm struggling with now is, there aren't any .torrent trackers for local Filipino Music which really sucks & because of this, I still have to depend on Lame 'ol LimeWire :'(

So, yeah, for everyone to notice:

DEMONOID OPENED THEIR REGISTRATIONS, SO GO THERE WHILE YOU CAN!!one11!!one!!!!

Sorry for that, let's get on topic.

LimeWire is one of the worst things I've found. My sister got it, and then downloaded five music files (.mp3 files). Guess what? After a AVG scan, I found out that 3 of those files were infections, and 2 were spyware.

So, yeah, P2P like eMule, LimeWire, Kazaa, and shit like that, is good for nothing.

On the other hand, you can only find a virus in a torrent once in 1000000000000. And if you go to trusted sources, the probabilities are even smaller. As trusted sources I mean Mininova, Demonoid, IsoHunt, Torrentz, etc. But always use PeerGuardian. The current version is 2.0 Beta 6b, so I doubt you'll get it. Instead of that, you can use IPFilter. Google it.

As for the comments, they are often not very reliable, because many people who report virus tend to use Norton Anti-Virus. 'Nuff said.

it depends what you download, you'll never get a virus in torrented media, however most software contains a virus of some sort.
