Are The Matrix & Terminator somehow related?

what about doctor who, the daleks, the cybermen, the cylons from battle star galactica and the droid like men from star trek, could they be some how related to this 2?

 

They're also related but the problem is the matrix and the terminator movies are more famous than those shows because of all the mindless action unlike doctor who, battlestar galactica, star trek and babylon 5 which concentrates more on the story.
