you dont put it in bank, thats when the tax man asks where it came from.
anyone that pays you in cash put it in your pocket, cheques you have to declare.
any money in bank come april, buy a new van or tools its better then giving it away, or if you know someone with a shop just get a receipt for some tools and pocket the money.
theres a million ways to benefit if you know how/got the balls to do it.

1 thing though, low income wont get you a mortgage so you have to be careful if you want a mortgage. I just rent :)

Ever heard of the Al Capone method? Basically they look at what you own and at what your income is, if things doesn't make sense they start looking real close and asking some questions which can be difficult to answer.

in other words, IRS can come to your house and accused you own them money and take your stuff away without the need of proper evidence.

pretty much yeah, and they can double whatever figure they come to and add interest at 40% for the period they believe you've been doing it for.

It's not really like that, but it's a law that you have to pay your taxes, so you have to be able to show your income and expenses to prove that you did. If you cannot present a proper accounting of your assets, income and taxes then you're probably breaking the law.
