Any old version of Snes9x that doesn't require me to download a million .dll's?

Which .dll files are you missing? Or are you talking about the .dll files needed to use the cgi shaders pack that are completely optional & non important to properly run snes9x?

Also, as I said register a forum account on there & ask for help in that particular thread.

As for you folks suggesting or recommending ZSNES, you need to realize that ZSNES is technically very obsolete now :p

There were rumors of an update as mentioned on this thread:

But as you can see, still nothing.

The only other emulator that is at par with snes9x is byuu's BSNES:

But the emulator has a window interface that has fixed sizes, that is you can only select a few preset window sizes & are not able to resize by dragging. This is a major downside for folks like me who need to use a custom window size because I can't view things on a small window.

The only "edge" ZSNES does have with snes9x & BSNES is that ZSNES features a "one button Save & Load state" function which is much easier to use than pressing shift + F1 to save states. But when it comes to ROM to emulator compatibility, snes9x & BSNES have better compatibility than ZSNES as the two can run ROMs that support some special graphics chips on certain ROMs & ZSNES has only minor support for them.

Looks like I'm not switching over then. I like using my PS3 controller's R3 and L3 to save state and load state. I've never had compatibility issues with the games I play so I really have no reason to switch over.
