American of British English?

    All European languages come from a colaberation of a multitude of languages. About 75% Of all English words are Latin base. The other 25% comes from other languages or is just made up by the newer generations.

    British English. I don't even know how they came up with the American pronunciations.

    we pronounce words correctly but it has a different accent. also it depends on who you are talking to.

    What about you Americans and the letter 'z'? It's 'zed' not 'zee'. I don't know how anyone screwed that up.

    i think it's because z then sounds more like cheese burger, which as we all know makes up 90% of all words spoken in america.

    my favourite one actually comes from my industry. A router (root-er) is a device used for directing traffic around networks and the internet, and americans pronounce it as row-ter, which is a power tool for shaping wood. That gets amusing at times since patton and I are both network engineers and he uses the american pronounciation.

    This is fine since in Australia, "getting a root" means to get laid, which as we know is not something internet nerds do.

    Oh, but Americans are wrong about everything else ever.

    freak. Anyway I grew up thinking thats was the only pronunciation.
