    I'm buying a Gateway P-7805u FX for $899. 4gb ram, 1gb video memory, Nvidea 9800 GTS gr. card.

    the 9800 is an old card now. Plus i've not been too impressed with the build quality of gateways I've had to fix.

    old card? The Nvidia GeForce 9800M GTS has only been available on laptops since Feb. '09

    Only Intel? it's not even Duo, that's quite low for a gaming computer, and even lower for Alienware, 2.66 GHz? very small for a gaming laptop that requires a large amount of cash.

    The Core i7 is a quad core processor. It is more powerful than the Core 2 Duos and most of the Core 2 Quads.
