Agree with Human Cloning?

Discussion in 'Debates' started by jakenero10, Dec 21, 2008.

  1. that depends on the cells they get from the animal, for instance if they get it from a 6 year old mammal (dolly) then the cloned animal will start off with cells that have aged 6 years, but it will be a new born.

but if u get embroynic cells then they are not aged and the cloned will not have aged cells.

But i agree agree 100% with cloning animal or human, all u are doing is creating another life form.
Twins are a natural form of clones since they share teh same genetic makeup. and that proves that even clones will have different psyc from donor to clone. YOu would have to raise that clone like a child and teach it right from wrong, it would experiance its own life and not that of its donor.

Their is nothing wrong with cloning, it is something that happens naturally there is even a whole race of lizards that consit of only females, the have mutated with they produced already fertlized eggs and have no use for males, and the only way that they adapt is thru mutations.

Now cloning and and genetic engineering are two different things, cloning just copies the genes while G.E. alters the dna but destroying strands in it

Now G.E. isnt all bad, it could be used for countless amounts of good in the world, but it could also be used to create a permant divide in the human race. Main reason why is because if G.E. is allowed the rich would get first dips since it would be expensive to alter ur childs dna, and by doing that it would in turn create two types of humans. i could go on but that is just a brief explantion of my opinion, if u have any questions pm me.

Not really. I haven't studied all existing state embryonic stem cell laws, but in the last election it was on the ballet for everyone to read here.

Embryonic stem cells only come from embryos that are set for disposal. Left overs from in vitro fertilization. They purposefully fertilize multiple eggs to ensure they start to grow, and then implant the fully successful and strong ones into the woman. The others are disposed of as biological waste.

It's biological waste that is used, not potential lives. Things that would have been destroyed otherwise are being used for research. And there are laws in place to stop them for purposefully creating extra embryos just for stem cell research.

Polls show that when told the truth about the source of the cells, more people are willing to accept the research using the cells.

also stem cells are often taken from the umbelical cord of a newborn baby, which is also biological waste, the baby is not harmed.

i actually agree if we could clone certain organ but,
    cloning a might result to.....
    1. famine, to many people not enough food.
    2. clone army, star wars anyone?
    3. human experimentation, well they're clones who cares?

    Just my opinion anyway........

I can't see this happening. In reality there is no difference between a clone and a sibling from the same parents. Just like an identical twin.

Without being told specifically, there would be no real way for a person to know who was cloned, who was a test tube baby, who was a natural birth, etc. There is no real biological difference between the humans. The only difference is the source of their genetic materials, which every way could happen naturally.

I personally think the only people who would treat cloned human beings as anything less than a human being are the same type of people who treat people of different races or religions that way. And those people are frowned upon by many cultures (at least in the West).

a clone army... i would pay to see that.

Perhaps, but couldn't we also clone plants and animals? I think water might become the problem long before food does.
Why should a clone army be any different to an army made up of natural born humans?

Disposable soldiers, we could program em to do what we say
or just make tons and catapult them at Iraq.

    Yikes!

if water is a problem why not clone water itself?

It depends on the person if cloning is ok with him/her or not.
We should just be a little careful with cloning...who knows what might happen...

You can't clone water, it's not a living organism...

    clone definition in web:

a general term for the research activity that creates a copy of some biological entity (a gene or organism or cell)

you can manufacture water... out of oxygen and hydrogen and electricity. but no you cant clone water...

... this is not alchemy class

Actually you dont need electricity. You can combine hydrogen and oxygen to produce water and electricity, thats what a fuel cell does.
