3DS to Stop Piracy In its Tracks.

Yes but theres only so long anyone will put up with shovelware.
Nintendo do have some great games, don't get me wrong, the problem is theres no competition. They have the handheld market for now but hopefully someone will give them some competition and force them to make better games and more of them.

 

I hope the PSP2 is good for that very reason. Not so much because I'll end up buying one, but for the competition.

 

Nintendo should get a wide array of people to test its games. Having viewpoints from many POV's will help them tell if a game is epically awesome, good, meh, or epic failure!!

 

That would possibly be the best thing to ever happen!

 

Haha it's kind of funny, cuz if there's competition, people will want to be able to have games for both systems, but need money. This effect is known *Insert Economics lesson*.
So, haha competition means less shovelware, and more piracy!! Double win!!

 

Maybe anti-piracy will also make better games for us, companys might put more into it if they know the product is safe?

 

Eh...The PS3 is "safe" for a while longer, and not too many games are appealing to me.

Meh, I'll only have gotten a DSi by the time the 3DSi XL has come out.

 

The other way around, as was stated. The piracy forced companies to take a look at what the folks played. Even if it was only to stop the piracy itself. Nintendo's reps played the pirated games. Some of those games ideas(the fan made pirated style games) made for better creative ideas. If a company becomes an absolute monopoly(Sony,Msoft,Nintendo) then they will produce less and less original games, as sequels will still dominate and sell in the marketplace. Competition, or rather the lack thereof, will only do harm to the consumer. And folks, that's us.

They will eventually.
They'll probably add more screens.

 

This. As long as they keep using the DS carts, then they will always find a way to crack the piracy and keep the people who can't afford the games happy.

Hell, the only reason majority of those who has consoles or handhelds can even play games is BECAUSE of piracy. The original stuff just cost so damn expensive that the piraters here have a huge monopoly on games.

It's even more striking if you notice that even major retail chains like SM Department Store, Toy Kingdom, Astrovision and ToysRUs sell pirated games out in the open.

bah I can't help but feel the two screens thing was more to make it look cool than anything else.
I remember being awed by it at first, but it only got boring for me.
