That doesn't surprise me in the slightest, out of all the thousands of DS games theres only a few that interest me, the rest are shovelware or for kids.
I also think parents are sick of buying the next revision of the DS for their kids too, they all play the same games. "But it takes photos!" So does the phone you nagged for so NO! "its thinner!" wow that makes me want to buy the same product again.
Theres only so far you can milk something.

    Very true!
I am not sure if I'm going to buy it or not actually. =\
But it looks enticing. I keep my brothers from asking our parents for the 3DS. It makes them a little less crazy. LOL

I have seen an interview with the nintendo CEO in which he stated that the economy is a significant worry for nintendo due to fewer sales and unfavourable exchange rates (apparently they make all their stuff in japan and export it). He was also explaining why the japanese economy is stagnant and how that affects nintendo.

Ugh. So the manager was right then. :p
That is not good for any company in these times. Even though they are selling a lot of products, it is not enough apparently to keep them above the water.
They are probably hoping that the 3DS will be their trump card and will get them going again.

It should be. BUT, only if they start making lots of top quality games and not let it go like the DS has.
The problem is they have no competition, I never see/hear anything about the psp and its upcoming games etc not even TV ads.

Nope. If it's like a home console type deal with the games, then it should get ads on TV if they're smart and want to market it. I have yet to see anything on TV about it or any other new game.

Also, they should find a way to SIGNIFICANTLY lower the costs, not by just $5 or $10, but by $50+!! THAT will help, but the amount it helps is directly proportional to the amount the price is lowered!! Basic economics!!

I think the games should cost half of modern home console games, DS games could have been made in the 90's. That would actually stop a fair bit of the piracy they complain so much about.

Hard to just how much piracy will stop, though. Some people would want to just spend the amount of 2 games to get all properly dumped games, instead of spending money to get all of those games.

piracy will never stop completely, but it can be reduced, and there's a right way and a wrong way of reducing it. ACTA is the wrong way.

Are they REALLY planning to use ACTA?!
I'll leave the internet and get a life if they do.

if nintendo make the games really big then we are going to need really big micro sd card which will be pricey and put people off...
oh well im shore there will be some sort of card for it....
what i want to no is will i be able to play my old nds games for it?
does anyone know if its supporting the old ds games (even if not in 3D)?
they will prob start releasing the old games again for it but this time in 3D....
also the new pokemon black and white will prob be in 3D made for the 3DS (just what im thinking) what do you guys think?

Shovelware is just shit games, like those Princess and Fantasy games. :p

It can play DS games, but it'll most likely just block all flashcarts, so don't get your hopes up.

Since I never thought of it before, how did people know how big 3DS games are gonna be, before release?

    Yes.
Having a fair price for the product will convince people like me to pay up, I dont mind if its worth the cash.
