2012 The end of the world?

Actually the summerians also talked about a war with aliens called Annunaki when Marduk(planet x/nibiru) crosses through the solar system in 2012. The Annunaki were responsible for the creation of humans according to summerians and they come back to spread more celestial knowledge, but the annunaki would see that we as humans became too arrogant and reject them and fight with the annunaki. but again...i dont really believe it its just a cool story.

"like a thief in the night" its also not THAT stupid. if you prepare for the worst chances are you're going to be just fine. what'll suck is the instant death scenarios like solar flare bombardment or interplanetary collisions with earth or the LHC creating a black hole that collapses the entire earth into singularity (which also wont happen but relevant since its another end of the world story)

Yes, it is that stupid.
It is stupid to believe in tings that there is no evidence for, and are nothing more then some wacko's website.
And the thing is i bet the majority of people who believe this crap are the people who deny evolution or Global Warming.

 

All i know is when most people believe it there will be wars, famine, suicides and many other "Bad" things. when people think it will happen, they will say something like "it's better for me to die than to see it coming" or other nations will start declaring wars. but personally I think it is not in our time, for there are many who worship different gods. it will only come when religions are erased from history. because different religions are the ones that receive messages from different gods. so as long as we listen to the messages of god(any religion), earth MAY live.

 

The end will come. Religion only able to "delay" it.

 

Those bad things exist and have existed since the dawn of civilization.

Who are these "other nations"?

So, there are a variety of different gods.
All they really want is for someone to listen to them.
Once we stop listening to them, they will get bored or something, and wipe us out.

This is what i'm asking for.
I'm not asking for proof, because i understand that absolutes only exist in math.
What i want is to know where you are getting this information.
I want evidence, or a reasonable argument.Not proof.
In other words, show me where you have read this, so i don't think you just pulled it out of your behind.

 

Dont debate with the end of the world. No one the actually predict the end of the world, unless hairs turn into snakes, bath water turn to blood, or you see armies of frogs. If it happens It happened. But if it does happen, we'll just never get to see "HALO 4"

 

Even if it does affect the orbit (if it does it will be minimal), it won't reverse it.
It would take an exterior force to accomplish this, like a massive impact.
In which case we would all be dead and unable to see the sun rising on the west.

look, troll, i said it was my favorite story i didn't say it was true or that i believed it in fact i say in every post that i don't believe it and that its very unlikely so before you try to start stuff saying its all speculation IN A SPECULATIVE DISCUSSION, you need to actually add something to it. its all in good fun for me. in fact id love to see it if he actually turned out to be a lizard but is he? no. are the rest of the worlds elites lizards? no. even if they do get involved in cold blooded acts every now and then. im not talking about the belief and i think the other poster wasn't talking about the belief either. im talking about serious preparation. If you aren't prepared you die. Thats just the way things work. im not saying go out and build bomb shelters horde food and sit in a corner and cry yourself to sleep everynight wishing for a god to save everyone from something that wont happen. im talking about having plans and strategies isn't such a stupid idea. thats kinda the reason people have these discussions in the first place and why they're fun to have.

inertia doesn't work that way. at most (and it would be a lot of force to do it in the first place) the earth would slow its rotation from a collision. anything with a greater result is pointless to talk about because we'd all be dead.

the only thing thats certain is a collision or intense solar activity cause earth gets hit by meteors constantly and every few years we get solar flares and tectonic shifts MAYBE since we get earthquakes but the movie 2012 actually pissed me off because in order to flood asia, a lot of water had to come from somewhere but since the whole world flooded at the same exact time, there was imaginary water coming from somewhere.

And As that if the world ended before, then there would nto be life now, unless its an ice age, if the world ended, THEN IT ENDED, but if its an ice age, the world doesnt end.

 

@ tranceman01, my apologies if you actually don't believe in any of those silly stories you posted, but since you used words such as highly unlikely, i assumed you thought there was a possibility of them being true.
I have seen my good share of people who actually believe this stuff, and maybe i jumped the trigger here.
