Delete the main system files (redownload the firmware if you want) and delete the files that you see. And then just put YSMenu straight onto your MicroSD.

Hi, now I have a few questions regarding this. So if using an R4, delete everything associated with the "english v.1.18.rar" extraction? Or just things within the "system folder"? There's also some outside the folder files like a .DAT file and can't remember what else, what about those?

I've opened the YSMenu+Moonshell.zip file to see what was inside, but haven't placed it on my card. Wondering: where do the games go? With v.1.18 we are to create our own "games" folder, do we do the same with the YSmenu, and if so, where should that folder go? Or do we keep our existing games folder?

And regarding themes/skins, can themes be used too? Similar question for the folder, do we create one and where should it go (if the system folder is to be deleted) ?

    Thanks for any info!

Yes or whatever firmware you have on currently. Having 1.18 or not doesn't matter at all. Delete the .nds and .dat file with the system file and anything else. Games can go anywhere, it doesn't matter. Themes you just have to overwrite the image files.

I've downloaded it, and put the YSMenu.nds data to the SD Card, but when i turn the ds on it says "Cannot find _DS_Menu_.dat"
i also cannot open the ttextract.exe. Should i change the .nds into .dat. (I'm using R4)

No don't do that. Make sure that once you've got YSMenu, to put on all the other system files as well, not just the .nds file. And delete the old firmware.
