My friend showed me that he had a program (like moonshell) that will turn on ys menu. It's in the same place where you would find your games. Since it's more convenient (trying to get maplestory to work on ds), I want to try and get that on my DS too. Anyone know how to do this?

btw: sry if this post is in the wrong section, its my first time actually posting something in these forums

Well, what flashcart do you have?

If it's an R4, then what kind?

You can run WoodR4 which is better than YSMenu.

Most likely the firmware was set up as a secondary installation and just run through the original R4 firmware. You could maybe ask your friend?

I did but he said he forgot... Anyway I tried adding Wood R4 but the screen layout stays the same (the background stuff I picked out). I downloaded it from here: http://forum.romulation.net/index.php?topic=39701, and picked the Wood R4 for Original V1.07. I put the folder inside it (wood_r4_v1.07) onto the root of my r4. What am i missing/doing wrong?

It's an entirely new R4 firmware that replaces the currently older one that you have.
You will need to follow the instructions provided on the page.

You want to put the stuff that is inside that folder on the root.
