i once caught 138 pokemons in the red version, using a real gbc and no cheat codes or anything... and may i remember, 138 is the max pokemons allowed to catch in a single version, without trading any pokemons or catching mew... i was extremely proud of myself at that time...
I remember getting all the pokemon in crystal including red garados. I was the coolest of all pokemon nerds.
I thought mew could only be acquired in blue,red,yellow version by going to Nintendo's convention at that time.

Hmm....looks convincing. Though I don't think it's worth catching one if you played it on the game boy. The catridges at that time use battery save which your save file will eventually disappear.
I'm talking about battery save. If you open your old catridge, you will see there is a button cell battery inside. Once it losses power, you lose your save file.
oh so THATS why my blue wouldnt save. btw i got 217 pokemon on crystal WITHOUT TRADING ONCE! also i have a good amount of lv50plus pokemon so i can go up against anyone of any type!
a lot of lv100s in the 1st and few in the 2nd gen. approx lvl 90 are Mewtwo Rayquaza tyrannitar salamence and some other more in sapphire ruby emerald leaf green and fire red. My diamond save got corrupt because of something I shouldn't have done so I stopped playing it for a couple months until now. Now, my pearl file has a luxio lvl 60 a floatzel lvl 60 and plant starter lvl 59. The reason I grouped the gens together is because I've linked between them a lot I don't wanna go back and check which one came from what gamepak.
