hmmm...well, as ya saw in the other thread, i called me builders home number, he said don't do anything to it, even a memory test.. I dunno how he has everything set up, but he said it could make it go screwy ???

So...i'm just gonna take it to him on monday...[me=Ryan]prays he doesn't get a hernia[/me]

    it weighs like 120 pounds...

How could a memory test freak out your computer?

I suggest letting him look at it once more (call him to your house ;))

My warranty he gave me doesn't cover "In-home" Repairs...if i want him to do it for free, i have to take it to him...better than paying him $75 for coming, then $25 for diagnoses, then for repairs..

Anyways. he'll probably RMA the RAM :p
    (He bought from newegg :p)

if he's telling you not to test the ram he's hiding something. run memtest86+ anyway, he wont be able to tell unless you leave the disc in.

$100USD for home service!? That's bullshit! That's already equivalent to 4,600+ Php (Philippine pesos). I totally agree with loony, your so called PC Builder is milking you dry :p

Why don't you just go to a certified & trusted Computer store where the staff, including the technicians, will sit down with you during the building & or repair process of your system & walk you through with whatever they'll be doing.

Damn if you only lived near where loony is, I bet you he'll make your computer run like a cheetah :)

A fee to diagnose? Thats bullshit, i'd never pay it.
When I was a mechanic we never charged to diagnose, only for the repairs and all building quotes I do now for work are free too.

    Still 6 euro's more.

Probably an issue with the session in which it happened.

at a guess its 4x4GB modules and I highly doubt 3 are coming loose unles they weren't installed properly in the first place.
