    It's not my HDMI cable.

Get your receipt, proof of purchase, what ever. Check to see if your system is still under warranty, talk with microsoft about repairs.

I think he only needs the xbox serial number. Hopefully your xbox is still under the 3 year warranty

No, you would still need to show the receipt.

I only needed my serial number when i did the repair thing from the website. So i assumed he would only need a serial number, plus i'm sure they would figure out something other then you needing a receipt, especially if his is over a year old, no one keeps receipt's for that long of a time.

I don't know, some people or place might want the receipt because it has the most proof. Besides those are like paper so just bring eveything along with you. :)

I read through the xbox site, and I think you don't need the receipt if you are going through Microsoft unless you want to prove to Microsoft that your still covered by a warranty if they say you aren't.

You'll need the receipt if you do a local thing though, at the retailer (depending on how old the Xbox is, you might be able to do something with them.)
