xTrim Released!

    I have just finished the first version of my program xTrim, that is a rom trimmer for the NDS. What this does is remove unnecessary code from nds rom files to make them smaller.

    Hope you guys like my program, and ideas or bugs can be reported to me via this forum or email. Expect more soon :)

    One last thing, remember this is an initial release - it won't be perfect so please be kind :)

    UPDATE

    Version 1.1 is out on http://www.xtrim.romulation.net. Updates include better error handling and big fixes. An updated README will be written soon, but nothing has changed for the user apart from the version number :)

    UPDATE

    I have discovered an error to do with the start menu shortcut which I have written a fix for at school today. As soon as I can I'll recompile and re-release :)

    I hope you're keeping a changelog; I've had one be invaluable for fixing a bug a user had that I couldnt reproduce. I asked him what the last version of the program that worked was, and using the changelog narrowed down the versions to the one that contained the change causing the problem. I'd never have found that bug without the changelog.

    Sure am :) Not very important at this stage, the updates make previous versions obsolete and are intended to fix the errors but when I start working on version 2 (batch and compression support :D) it'll become more important.

    - Bug fixes
    - Increased error handling
    - Faster installer
    - Fixed start menu link

    Make sure you uninstall previous versions before installing this one. Tell me what you think :)

    The compatibility should be 100% really, all it does it remove unnecessary information so all games should work the same after being trimmed.
