How do you make an xbox 360 pro play burnt backups without mod chips.
    Is this possible?
    Please Help

Technically you flash the hard drive, not use mod chips.

There is no soft mod method (aka throw in usb drive and let it run).

I read somewhere it said old firmware version can run burnt games because it doesn't look for security codes in the disk.
is this true, if so give me a tutorial

You can't go back to old firmware, and I watched a guy doing the flashing method...too complicated for me to comprehend.

Also-try googling it-you may find more results as most people here follow the ds scene...if not keep watching.

Old firmware? You mean old dashboard? if so sounds your talking about what is called the JTag hack. and it only works on the consoles motherboards with manufacturing date prior to June 2009 and the dash must be 7371 or lower. Its very complicated procedure most people that find a Jtaggable xbox will send it off to a pro to have it installed rather than trying to attempt it themselves.

Other than that flashing the drive is the only other option.
