My router may be quite dated in comparison to the newer routers but it's worked well until recently.
Now, when I relay my internet in this fashion Wall jack > Modem (Using a small wire, I dont know what the wire's proper name is.) > Ethernet cable > Router > Computer.
It recognizes the cable is plugged in but im not receiving proper internet connection.
Any ideas on how to fix my issue?

The small one is an RJ-11. It's your phone line.

The problem could be anywhere in your setup. Your Modem could just be not configured right, Router could not be configured right, etc. Many modems are specifically set up to communicate to only one MAC Address (Network card). Modems won't communicate on your ISP's network properly unless setup with the right info.

Your best bet is to contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider) and get their help.

the router could be dying, I recently had to replace an old linksys at my dad's workplace (emergency callout). It had been playing up for a long time, and it just suddenly died.
