    Hey all,

My DSTT just came in the mail and I'm trying to load the firmware on there, however when I try and drop files onto it I get a "write protected" message. Anyone know how to get around this? Thanks.

You are probably using an SD adapter for your MicroSD.

There is a switch on the side of the SD adapter labeled "Lock". Put this into the non locked position.

I'm using the orange sd adapter that came with the dstt. I don't see the lock switch on either the micro sd card or the adapter, however there is one on the sandisk adapter for the micro sd card.

Hmm, I've never liked the MicroSD adapters that come with the flashcarts. Mine didn't work at all (Bad adapter). I had to go to wal-mart and grab a cheap SD reader instead.

I haven't used the DSTT's free USB adapter. Is there any sort of driver utility for it that may have a write protect option?

Nope, no software came with it or anything. I may end up just going and grabbing the sd card reader, I'd imagine they all work the same and would probably fix the problem.

Try uninstalling your USB adapter, and reinstalling it. (Through the device manager)

I'd still pick up a SD card reader though, since they are usually better quality than the free USB adapters, and are pretty cheap themselves. A few people have reported the free USB adapters corrupting the data on their card.

Is this the cheap plastic flimsy reader you're talking about? It actually worked fine when I had mine.

Yea, but I just picked up an ohm universal card reader for like $5 at target. Trying it now.

So I picked up the new card reader and that fixed the problem. I just put the micro sd in the sd adapter then put that into the sd card reader and was able to drag and drop. Got the kernel and about 25 games on there thus far! Thanks alot romulation!
