This might be the worst thing that happened to my DSTT... Late last night, moonshell crashed while loading an image, so I couldn't get it to start up as it loads the previous file before it was closed. So it was unusable. Then! I was checking out the AR codes for all of my games. I tried to activate the catch trainer's pokemon cheat for Platinum for the lawls. When I tried to load it,it said "cannot find SAV file"! So I switch my DS off. I switch it back on and it says "Menu?" So I came to the conclusion that the AR code corrupted my MicroSD card. No biggie, right? No. I lost a months worth of gameplay on ALOT of games. Some being: Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days Super Robot Taisen OG Saga Endless Frontier Lifesigns:Surgical Unit Theresia Soma Bringer Pokemon Platinum I also lost the nds files for them...T_T So...is there a way to recover them all? But its pretty useless...I already reformatted my card. Oh well...guess I'll just have to live with it and play through all of them again.
ohhh the Soma Bringer and the Endless Frontier, especially the Endless Frontier, there's like 60 hours of my life on that game, I know it doesn't sound much, but it's alot for me I feel bad for you man Guess you can play them back all again
I keep back ups of all my games, their saves, and my current AR codes on my computer in case I have to reformat my memory stick because of my R4 clone, which I often have to because it likes to mess up when I try to add new codes. -_-
I backup my save files only and sadly didn't back up any for over a month...I should learn to start making time for these kinds of things...
I know how that sucks. It happen to me twice already. Are you really sure its the AR's fault?I just want to make sure.
this happened to me about 2 weeks ago ! i had 80+games updated my firmware then i had to format i had just completed gta chinatown wars and like 4 other games i had played over a few months and it was all lost so now i backup all my games/sav files just incase
I believe it is the AR code...because the DSTT creates a file (about a kilobyte) for a game when one of the game's codes have been activated. I probably had NO space left on my MicroSD because of the building Cache data from using Bunjaloo (homebrew web browser) too much... So forcing the creation of the file...well...overloaded the card and it corrupted. Course, it could be another reason...worked fine after Moonshell2 btw. My Endless Frontier data...T_T checked the backup save...and it was before the fight with both Abend and Nacht in Wilkurkind... lost about 30 levels, bgm test, and my New Game+ data was already in the part going to the Desert area...but the bright side, it's summer here and that means I could play it all back!!
Well,, Cheer up, bad day huh. it's pretty suck if all your save files are gone, but you can earn your own experience by playing again them all
yeah. you're right...I only backed up the game saves that I didn't wanna lose. But I have nothing else to do this summer (besides chores), so it's alright for me. Or I can forget all about this by drawing manga.
I'd do that, but I can't find a good theme for the manga...or at least a story...characters aren't a problem...so yeah...any suggestions?
If a game does not have re-play value, then that becomes very obvious when things like this happen. I once lost a 400 hour save file for DisgeaDS. No big deal.
But doesn't that feel like you just lost that much time of your life? I'd be pissed if I didn't backup my Devil Survivor save.
My Devil Survivor save was lost during my second time.Hurt me alot,I just need to beat Lucifer to complete it 100%. Boy do I miss my level99 Ananta.....with 32 magic!!!
Ouch...you must've felt REALLY angry and upset at the same time... btw nice avi. Do you by chance have either reiji or Xiamou sprites from Endless Frontier?
I was quite pissed at the time. Sorry but I don't have the sprites from Endless Frontier,I'm still looking for Suzuka's dancing sprite though....
Sorry to say, after reformatting; there's almost certainly no way of getting your saves back. I'm not familiar with the DS, but I know that with the PSP, even if your firmware corrupts and damages your saves, it's possible to load them onto your PC and recover them. Next time be sure to try making a backup file on your PC before formatting your card. Sorry to hear about your loss, may your data rest in peace.
