I'm bored, and I seen this on yahoo and I thought it would be a nice addition to the debates it was actually regarding talking on the cellphone while being at the check-out lane and if it was considered rude to the cashier or not. Personally it gets on my nerves when someone is on the phone in the check out line and everyone is being subjected to the conversation, but I don't really see it as being rude as it's their business, but it is annoying as hell especially when they are too damn loud with it.
I don't see how it's rude as long as they're not very loud about it and the call isn't obscene or something. And they should put it down when it's their turn at the cashier of course. But, different cultures, different norms, so it might not be the same where you live :o
Ok-I'll be honest-I've worked in fast food and currently a super market... And I've seen this happen with many results. Sometimes-they pull out of the cue to let the next person go. Others-they place an oder, or try to pay, while on the phone-and when I tell them something they occasionally go ethier "eh what" or "SHUT UP I'M BUSY" and I normally pull whatever I given them back... They complain and bitch-but at the end of the day-your short-and you didn't want to hear it... Sometimes, they apoligise. Others-fast food and super markets-they do the whole transaction on the phone-placing an order, to payment...without getting off the phone... Weridest and most annoying-placing an order on drive thru.. "what would you like" "HOLD ON I'M ASKING HIM" ... She then places her mobile up to the speaker box-which was hard to hear-we asked for a translation. THAT TOOK 30MINS! So much for quick service... All in all-it's a mixed bag-if they apoligise-it's worth it. If not-or they continue chatting until change time...that's thier fault if you accidently short change them ligitmally... (I never short change on purpose-but I suck with money...by the time I realise-I lol)
i find all forms of communication rude, why cant people leave me alone without commenting on the weather or asking quetions that there is no appropriate answer. thats only because you hear half the conversation, if you heard both halves you wouldnt find it annoying.
i dont find that rude, but talking in a cinema is rude and whoever did it deserve a punch in the face.
I just get up and tell them. My size (and what I'm wearing during movies...) seems intimidating... Thank god for black finger less gloves and being over 6ft-lol dam short aussies!
I'd throw apples and whatever at you......... even if I'm not the one who you are talking to in the cinemas xP ..... standing there attracting attention
i wish that would work in malaysia, i get up told them not to talk, they apologise and continue to talk. there is once i yell at this guy for talking like 5 times and i scold couple of teenagers once for doing thier own SE in the movie... i really hate malaysian.....
Of course its rude. You get distracted from the phone you won't be able to finish paying and you will eventually hold up a line.
